P clips to mount lightweight rear rack

Post by mskinner »

Hi all, any thoughts or experiences regarding mounting a lightweight rack (5kg Load max) using P clips. I have bought a salsa minimal from the classifieds without checking the mounting specs. Was looking to use it as a rear rack

Any rubber lined stainless clip of the correct diameter will do the job. Hundreds on ebay.

Have you got bottom mounts on the frame Matt? Would you like me to make you up some longer support struts? Just need an idea of length and the OD.

Hi Stu, yes I have mounting points, the struts are just too short. ( not by much) I will email the measurements to you. Let me know the price if you can sort it and I will PayPal it to you

So commonly done that some nitto racks even come with rubber lined p clips.

As stu says, longer struts or p clips are all fine
