Lanshan 2?

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Does anyone have a Lanshan 2? I'm thinking about some type of shelter for Ruby and myself. I'm not sure I'd trust her beneath an open tarp all night and any tents I possess aren't big enough for the pair of us. The Lanshan looks like it might fit the bill while being light enough for me to carry on a walk of a few days.

If you have one, do you like it? Good, bad, alright?

I bought one (pro) for a trip with my other half and like it for what it costs - it’s pretty roomy and the double entrance makes a big difference. Would be palatial for one man and his dog. Ground sheet is very thin so dog claws might be an issue?

Not used it much so can’t comment on resistance to bad weather - it has big flat sides though that might be sub-optimal in windy conditions.

So Ruby is a dog and not a daughter/neice/ grandchild, probably best I don't lend you my Pro as the floor is paper thin as Al says

Dunno how big Ruby is but I'm about to retire a 39kilo GSD/Dutch Herder home and am planning to take him for some nights out in my Lanshan 1! It may or may not be a total disaster depending on how wriggly he turns out to be but it looks spacious enough in theory. :???:

Think small donkey

Is that with or without an inner Chris or with the Pro version?

I was thinking with the inner (non pro) but it may be one of those unrealistic visualisation things where you think the space is bigger in your mind than it actually is in reality. I have a Hexpeak V4a as well which is a little bit bigger again so hopefully one of them will be big enough for me and Volt.

I have a Lanshan Teepee tent which goes up outer only. Very good with dog quite big though. Oh and don't forget to seem seal it yourself lurchers dont like getting wet in the night.

Wouldn't a Luxe MiniPeak or HexaPeak be a good option for Dog packing Stu? I know you're more experienced with them than me.

Maybe, I was just thinking that the Lanshan might pack a bit smaller. I think I'll get her in a TS first and see how she goes on.
