Top tube bag for bolt on OR not

Hey all,

I've got a couple of bikes - one with a bolt mount on the top tube, and one without - are there any bags out there that are designed for either / or?

(and yes, I know I could just use straps for both and ignore the bolts!)

Cheers!

I’ve no doubt if you went to small scale custom producer you could get one made.
I have a TT bag and frame bag on each of my bikes. Indulgent, I know but saves on a bunch of pre ride faff. I can also keep bike specific tubes, spares and ties permanently with each bike.

Do the bolt on bags share the same mounting centres from different manufacturers?

I bought a bag from R**ha that had removable straps and just punched two holes in it to use on the bike with bolts and simply put the straps back on for the one that didn't.

Restrap do one as do Apidura, from memory they're about £40. The hole distance is standard but both offer 2 pairs of holes depending how close to the stem you want to mount it

Supposed to be the same standard as bottle cage bolts.
What does vary is the position of the holes on the TT itself.
Therefore an off the shelf bolt on TT bag will fit differently on different bikes and may not butt up nicely to your steerer.

Likewise Revelate, though usually a bit more spendy. Quality kit though.

The Salsa one I have (their original design) has the bolt holes but it puts the bag too close to the stem!

Consequently I have just punched another pair of holes through. As long as the bag is made of a decently stiff material, or can have a loop around the steerer you could hole punch any bag.
