Out of interest john, what is it that's drawn you to a bag away from a quilt?

As a side sleeper who twists and turns in the night, the cold bum is the problem to me at times.
This bag is an experiment to see how it works (Sam talks highly of it) and will be used with my 250 quilt as an over quilt in colder weathers, maybe the 450 if it's not as warm as I hope

John, if Nick doesn't go for the 450 quilt, I might be interested too. Out of interest, how do you find the quilt, what kind of temp is it comfortable to? Thanks

I've found it's been good down to around 2 degrees and I sleep in Long John's merino socks, Helly Hanson top and if colder a down jacket too.
If it's any colder ir if I'm under a tarp rather than a tent at these temps I tend to double bag it with my 250 quilt that I'm keeping

This may mean that I'll have my Cumulus 450 quilt up for sale in a couple of months time after a test bivi or two.

Sorry I got mistaken, I'm not as hard as you I've had my 250 down to 2 degrees, but I needed a down jacket too.

The 450 can go lower than that, but I've never really camped may times below freezing, because I'm a wimp

That's more like it I reckon a 450 is probably good to around -6 with appropriate mat.

I do think it depends on whether you are a warm or cold sleeper - Cath's been down to -6 with the 350 with no problem. I find the Cumulus ratings to be pretty accurate (for me).
