Winter down jacket £150?

Post by ootini »

Anyone know of a nice warm down jacket for use in the colder seasons for around £150ish?
I've seen the Alpkit Fantom which is down to £160 at the minute, but was wondering about alternatives before I pull the trigger.
Thank you

Lots of options (various suggested temp ranges) at Decathlon, all with RDS down and at least 660 CUIN fill power (which seems to be at least equal to the Fantom). I've been very happy with my lightweight one, which has been serving me well for over 5 years now.

If it's for bikepacking then you might find that a lighter jacket is sufficient. I've a few but my big winter ones rarely get used as they're generally too warm and bulky but maybe that's just me.

Anyway, depending upon your size (only XL left) this looks to be a good buy https://rockrun.com/collections/mens-do ... wter-alloy

I bought a Rab Electron jacket as an 'oh sh*t' jacket for the Rov 150. The only time I wore it was for wandering round the town when it was -25. It's now used for posing in ski resorts. I think I paid about £160 for it.... I'd agree with Stu that a lighter thing is probably of more use unless your going to hit the Cairngorm plateau.
