Quite 'lumpy'.

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Obviously the BB200 always tends to include quite a bit of climbing but no matter what, it won't be as bad as this ... because this is the 2021 BB300. :-bd

I'm really hoping I can revalidate my 200 black badge this year so I can sign up for some 300 madness in 2022.

To be fair I think the BB200 in 2015 had about 5500m of climbing, so it's commensurate with previous editions.

Is the extra 2 metres of descent due to being lowered into your grave?

I clocked 5520m of ascent on last year's BB200, the 2018 edition had 4600m and the 2016 had 4720m.

I like how you've saved the biggest climb for 3/4 of the way through

Weird - OS mapping reckons it'll only take 16 hours to ride :-bd

I think your default settings need to change to “pushing bike” not pushbike

I'm sure there's some bits that'd be well suited but the BB200 / 300 is never a 'gravel' route.

Looks reasonably bumpy, but not too bad. I did a 230km race in July with 10,600m of climbing.

I've tried to ride a self designed loop with ca. 400 km and 20000 m of climbing.
About 10 % of the time can be ridden seated, the rest is too steep and techy (up or down) to sit down.
Not sure I will ever make it round.

There's a strange sense of fun in that route :-bd

Talking about lumpy.

It's also the name of your poo as displayed on the backcountry camp grounds (yeah, that what they're called) in Jasper NP to explain how to change the human waste tanks. Of course nobody had moved the very full tank, so I did it. 1 m3 of poo, piss, paper. Mmhhh... exactly what one seeks when long distance hiking in the Canadian Rockies.
