Panaracer sk tires...dont buy them

Post by Mike »

Jeez these are the worst tires iv ever used and I can be definitely sure I won't be using g them again!!

They are about 18mths old and had alittle use but the state of them for a premium tyre is shocking, so firstly you may remember me saying they had bubbled up inside! Now the one is so wonky I can't even use it with a tube in!! Never had this before in a tyre. What shocking poor quality they are!!

Have you contacted Panaracer Mike? I'm on my fifth GravelKing SK, in different colours/widths and, other than one not really holding air long term tubeless (I've found this with a few Panaracers down the years), they've been great - certainly no blistering or misshaping.

I've always had good results with the SKs. The slick ones are puncture magnets though

Mine have been great as well, in fact I'm just about to replace the rear with another new one. Maybe you've been unlucky Mike?

18 months!! I'd be happy to get 12 months from a set of tyres, or 6 with continuous use.
It does sound like you have issues that might be covered by warranty, although a wonky tyre also sounds like it isn't seated correctly.

Panaracer like all tyre companies will make different versions of a tyre, usually cheaper versions for OE market such as the stuff you'll find on planetx and similar.

We have used several sets in two different bikes for over 4 years.

Then includes slate quarries in N Wales. TNR, Italy Divide

I would definately buy and use again

It is interesting how people's experiences are different. I've never had the SK version but I used the gravel king slicks for many thousands of Audax KM with no issue, using them tubeless when they weren't officially rated for that.
