Lucky guy.
A fairly freak accident admittedley but this and a couple of similar incidents I've read about where injured riders have become separated from their bikes has made me wonder if I should be carrying my PLB in my pocket rather than in the top tube bag.

A very similar thing happened a few years ago in Edinburgh. A rider clipped the kerb as he approached the Dean Bridge, throwing him over the parapet. Being 32m above the Water of Leith, and a notorious suicide spot, it's a much bigger drop than that recent incident but he was lucky to land on a rock ledge and sustained only minor injuries.
