There's been thunderstorms circling around for the past hour or so.
What was weird was that we could see, and hear, a wall of rain approaching us. No wind, just the approaching rain getting louder and louder.
Getting a bit lively now, the strikes are within half a mile or so and the other side of the valley has disappeared.

As the BB Rain Man, I carry my own portable mini rain cloud round with me these days, saves searching them out .

Re: Thunder!
Waves
Looking at the rain radar there was a band of storms that tracked north last night - Leeds and Bradford got a big one.
We did have a couple of short power outages (<5 secs) when the storms passed very close - just one of the downsides of country living.
