Jennride. Which tyres?
Which tyres would be best suited to the Jennride? Choices are:
Maxxis Chronicles 27.5 x 3.0
Vittoria Mezcal 27.5 x 2.6
Schwalbe Nobby Nic 27.5 x 2.8
Mix n' match?

Re: Jennride. Which tyres?
Not on your list. But I have the choice of Terevail Corondo 2.8 or Bontrager XR4 3"
Ill maybe go with XR4 (tough as old boots) last time I done it on a Vigilante / Trail Boss 2.6 and having strong tyres really helped when I got sleepy and my line choice went from my normal bad to worse.

I'd go for the 2.8 width, something with a decent sidewall and capable on mixed terrain.
I rode two of the Jennrides on the XR4 2.8's and they were excellent

Re: Jennride. Which tyres?
I had a chat with the bloke in Ghyllside Cycles in Ambleside a couple of years ago, he said every Jenn Ride that passes through there'll be at least half a dozen people coming in who've ripped a sidewall after turning up on a lightweight tyre.
(I was in there buying a tyre after ripping a sidewall coming down Jenkin Crag)

You had not even managed to reach the proper rocky stuff then
I dont really know any of those tyres but would go for the most grippy [esp wet rock] with the thickest sidewall and I woud not be thinking about fastest rolling.

Depends on how fast you are going I ride Chronicles 2.75 3.0 all year round and have got used to the 50/50 traction in the wet, but is going to be dry

I'm a fan of the Bonty XR series. Either XR4 front/XR3 rear or XR3 front/XR2 rear depending on whether you prefer grip or lesser rolling resistance.
