Park overnight in Powys?

Post by Alh14 »

Hi longtime lurker here

I’m planning a two day trip around the Gap and Black mountains (110km, 4500m) but am struggling where to leave the car, probably going to start in Crickhowell, which has a long stay car park.

I can’t seem to find how to pay for two days parking anywhere.

Any ideas?

Hi again, I personally wouldn't hesitate to just park the car somewhere on a roadside in either Crickhowell (e.g. Llabedr Road) or Llangynidr, should be perfectly fine. Don't know exactly where this free car park is in Llangynidr, but possibly at the village hall. There's also the Coach and Horses Inn at Llangynidr with a large car park, they might be happy for you to park there if you bung them a few quid.
Also Henderson Hall in Talybont is a good base for what you're doing, car parking by donation https://talybontonusk.com/getting-here/ ... he%20canal.

Thanks Verena.

I’d forgotten about the Talybont car park.
