This just came through from one of the Bristolians. So am assuming it's Liam. Looking rather happy still

Well, unless somebody's nicked his bike it probably is :-bd
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Hard to tell, but looks a bit to far into the loch. In 2015, I just managed to keep my 'crown jewels' dry, but I've a 34" inside leg. I crossed with Ricky Cotter, who's probably 5'5" in heels and it was over the pockets at the back of her jersey. I still remember the shrieks  Tough cookie that one.

I thought Liam was having an enforced 40 winks near Coire Lair there, but PING, and he's in Strathcarron.
I predict some rest in Dornie (or maybe get into Glen Affric first) and then finish. Amazing.

I bumped into Mike Sheldrake in Lochinver. Yes, derailleur gone and called bike shop jn Scourie for a fix tomorrow. Now he's in Ullapool, so something changed.
Liam for the win now. Simply amazing!

Looks like Lars missed the Ullapool hill track section and he has had to go back.

It's not an obvious turning and would be easily missed - especially as it's getting dark.

Good to see that Rich Rothwell has finally got to the river crossing. It's taken 5 hours to get from the road.

Ah no, I seen his tracker ping off route about 20 mins ago and seen he made a mistake. I almost missed that turning myself.

The "bike shop" in Ullapool is just a rack of inner tubes, puncture repair kits and water bottles and the like in an outdoor sorts shop. Contin/Strathpeffer will be the nearest.

I had a freehub posted to me when mine went bang just outside Ullapool. It made it's way from Kent to Ullapool in under 24 hours. I was amazed!! It gave me a day of faffing and eating. And the shipping only cost £18... :-bd

It's about 12 hours riding from where Liam is now - so he's doing brilliantly.

i'm surprised at that, I thought it would be more than 12. I wonder if he'll make it in one, that was a short nap earlier.

I got to Fort A at 21:50, had pizza and was back at Tyndrum for 09:55 so Liam should be faster than that. He's got 10 hrs 26 minutes to beat the course record?

Record is 3 days 10 hrs 22 minutes.

Started at 08:55 so needs to be back by 19:17?

Sean, you were riding through the night whereas Liam will be doing it in the daylight so should be quicker just because of that. Just hope there isn't a headwind in the Great Glen.

He's on the descent from the Pylon climb with the climb of General Wade's road to come. Just thinking that must be hard work on a singlespeed as it's such a steady gradient. Looking at his tracker history he's about eight hours ahead of the next pair.

Here's Neil's tracker from 2017 - http://trackleaders.com/highland17i.php ... Beltchenko looks like Liam's about 3hrs behind that schedule but Neil took 12hrs from FA to the finish.

Looks like all the leading group(?) took a nap overnight:

James Hayden at Kinlochewe for 7hrs
Andrew Hutcheson just after Kinlochewe for 5hrs?
Josh Ibbett just before the teahouse bothy for 6hrs
Liam at Inverinate for 2hrs

Trackleaders has Liam's current daily average as being 5 miles more than NB, possibly accounted for by the different route through Fisherfield. His avg speed is also slightly higher, could be close as to whether he breaks the record :-bd

So Liam doesn’t sleep, and from that pic he doesn’t eat or drink either. How does he do it?

He has a backpack with his waterinaide it. I'm gonna assume it has lots of strap pocket which is where he stashes his food. Equally though 'doesn't eat' could be a viable theory... he's on a Stooge afterall...

Liam might as well be doing an ITT  , I don't think he's seen another rider since Lochinver and probably not seen many apart from Josh/James since passing the field early on.

It wasn't very dark or for very long but he should be much faster than me.

I was probably fresher as I'd had more sleep... but maybe not as I'd been riding since 5am before I got to Fort A at 21:50. I did 29 hrs on my last day. I was riding hard though as for some reason I'd suddenly realised it was a race and decided to go faster.

I think he''ll get under the record, which will also be the new singlespeed record
