Charging from Exposure light

Post by robbie »

Anyone used their exposure for charging a phone or powerbank?
The cable is available and would just need to get a micro usb adapter for it. Obviously loose the run time on the light but with it being a six pack it has way more than I usually need.

I have as a backup, it works well. Which reminds me my new phone has a different socket so I need to get an adapter for my Exposure cable.

What light do you have Sean?
I know all phones etc are different but how many times will it charge your phone? just trying to estimate if I need a new powerbank for a trip or if I can get away with my old one and the exposure. :???:

I've got a Toro Mk 10. I've no idea how many times it would charge my phone though, sorry.

I've used it to charge my phone from flat before and the light still had charge. I take the cable when I'm not taking a power bank just in case my phone needs charging but I'm careful with my phone and the phone battery will last days if I mainly have it on airplane mode and just use it to take photos.

My adapter from micro USB to USB C arrived today so I've been able to test it.

Toro Mk10 53% to start and 29% when finished

Google Pixel 5, 34% to start and 68% when finished, on charge for 50 minutes.

The phone has quite a high capacity battery, I can go 2 to 3 days between charging when at home. On a trip (where I'm not on here all the time) I think it would last at least a week.

I can only find Mini USB B ended eXposure cables (the type that data connect to eTrex 20 etc). I need to charge a phone with Micro USB C if anyone can help a numpty.

Robbie - buy an eXposure support cell and you can charge your light and/or phone?

EDIT: Found this, but not ideal https://www.amazon.co.uk/OpenII-Angled- ... cs&sr=1-30

It does look like they've stopped making the micro usb cable  I'd better not loose mine.

I've just bought a mini usb b to micro adapter
So can use on phone and power bank if needed. I'm not really needing a support cell as if I'm using my six pack for events it's a bit big and overkill but if it serves a secondary purpuse of charging then saves me taking an extra powerbank.

I've got Diablo and/or a Joystick and used to carry a power bank. The Support cell was in their sale and covers both. Be nice to have at least one less cable though......

So, my Joystick won't charge the Huawei phone. Happily the Diablo and the Support cell do.
