Following on from the who stole the 29+ tyres thread (me probably, I just bought some Trek XR4 to go with the Bombolino I bought on Wednesday) I though it would be nice to have a place for all things plus.
My first question would be what tyre pressure do people run? Currently I’m down to 11psi front and 13psi rear unloaded with my Chronicles. I think I could easily go lower but even now it feels a bit squirrely when I’m on tarmac.

You may have just answered the question yourself.lune ranger wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 7:53 pm My first question would be what tyre pressure do people run? Thinking about it, I find tarmac a kind of litmus test.
If things are wobbly under hard cornering on tarmac, I know I have the right pressure for soft, wet terrain and slow riding. When square shaped rocks appear, I know I have to be careful.
For fast, dry and rough terrain, the tarmac litmus test has to be wobble free in my cases.
This applies for all sorts of tyre sizes, except for fatbikes.

I’ve started panic buying. A pair of Maxxis chronicles 3.0, and some second hand Bonty XRs 2.8 both on eBay. Unfortunately in a lowly 27.5 diameter, however if I didn’t I’m sure I’d regret it , unless 28.4 becomes the new 26.

12- 15 front and 15-20 rear. When I first started out I was running down to 8 front and 10 rear but this can get quite draggy plus I was forever bottoming out the tyres on rocks and roots.
25-30psi for routes with easier trails, tracks and road.

12ish in the front for me. I don’t run plus tyres at the rear.
