Main site re-jig.

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

I appreciate most of you only frequent this spot and rarely travel to the other corners of BB but I thought I'd tell you that the rest of the site has had a large coat of paint - forum will be following suit but nothing too drastic, so don't panic.

A big thank you to Dee for sorting that out.

Many definitions of 'professional' include the word 'paid'. However I'll stick with this one as being most applicable to Stu n Dee: "Being a professional suggests things such as being qualified (however defined) and practising in a definable area, having expertise based on a deep level of knowledge, and having a commitment to the area of practice - possibly (but not necessarily) through being a member of a relevant professional body".

All we need now is a 'professional body'. 'British Bikepacking' maybe? 'Honourable Company Of Bikepackers'? .......

The UCI are already trying to muscle in on gravel riding, do we need them in bikepacking too?

Tyred Wanderers And Tramps Society?

I'm on fire. It must be Cheery Friday.

(but yeah it does look good, very swish, and indeed cheery as befits the day. The shopping section will have people green with envy)

Always like a good acronym, me

p.s. by "professional" I was thinking of a high standard, polished, top quality :-bd

Aye.

Next rejig can we have a link back from the forum index page to the main page please? On this phone it's a pain trying to type the main url because it autocompletes to the forum url as that's my main bookmark. Maybe I should bookmark the main page as well and shut up.

Clicking on the logo at the top of the forum takes you back to the main page...it always has.

Not got any logos on me phone forum page. Just FAQ and a menu for members, your posts, new posts etc; search box; and some buttons for notifications, messages etc.

Just checked mine on the phone as well, there's no way out of the forum other than typing in the url of the home page.

You're going to tell me there's a link to the blog from the forum as well, but I can't see that either and it'd be very useful as I seem to come across 'new' blog entries months afterwards.

The logo is only on the desktop version not my android version on the phone which is the issue? So on a phone there is no way to the main menu.

Stu, you're missing a trick here, I'd be much ,more likely to order a new warmer sleeping bag when shivering in my bivi if it was easy to get to the shop using the phone
