I'm sure someone on here mentioned a UK rail map plotted as a physical map rather than a Tube style diagram - possibly as an overlay on Google Maps or similar - but I'm buggered if I can find it. Thought it was on the "where would you live?" thread. Someone help me out?

I think that mention might have been me, I used that website a lot when looking for a house. There are also railway maps on the national rail website to let you see bigger and smaller stations, and showing every station on the network. I used a few sources at the same time
