Spare derailleur hanger

Post by Callmedave »

Hi,

I'm having an issue sourcing a spare derailleur hanger for my Genesis Croix De Fer. The OEM part seems to be out of stock everywhere and discontinued. I've scoured the net high and low. I've also tried Wheels Mgmt and other sites to see if they sell a replica but they do not.

Any advise appreciated on how to solve this.

Cheers,

Dave

You could try sending them 67 emails.

Seriouly, have you tried contacting Genesis? Seems odd for a big selling bike like the CdF.

I thought the CDF was a steel frame?

Is the hanger not part of the frame?

 you and your informed comment.
Maybe it's a Ti frame or the thru axle version but you're right the Qr frame doesn't have a replacable dropout.

I've recently bought spare hangers for my hybrid and mine and my sons' mountain bikes from Ebay for about a tenner each. It's worth a look because they had loads of different types.

Thanks for your responses. I checked all those sites listed (and more I found) but they don't stock either the OEM hanger or the replica. Genesis pointed me to their stockists which don't have any in stock and have no idea when it might next come into stock.

I was getting desperate. Luckily I contacted the guy I purchased the bike from and he had a spare which he had forgotten about. So he is posting it to me. Result :-bd

P.s. I have the Ti frame so it has a hanger.

Yes I saw this and was going to fall back on it if I couldn't get a spare. Thanks

I think if you send a hanger to BETD- maybe even a snapped one, they'll try to replecate it, or find the nearest fit..

An emeregency hanger may get you home, but they're not a long term fix..
