Re: New member saying hello, and a question about camping
As you will soon find out, to be honest the bike chat is usually very limited because we almost immediately digress off into uncharted territory. Things can lead absolutely anywhere and usually do . Still, if you can handle it, it can be very enlightening sometimes .trogladytes wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 8:32 pmHey Lazarus, you did, thanks for telling about it, great to have unlimited bike chat hopefully see you out riding soon

That was really helpful advice. I'm just trying to summon up the courage for my first night too, and also have all the same concerns so I will consider these ideas too. Thanks all.

Agreed, all really helpful, not done it yet but as was rightly pointed out, we are meant to be staying home, so I have a bit longer to psyche myself up.
Good luck @TC2wheels and @rapideye with your first night out.
Thanks everyone

Re: New member saying hello, and a question about camping
If I’ve not camped solo for a while I always find it takes me a night to get back into the hang of ignoring noises etc!
I always find it easiest to sleep if I’ve done a silly amount of riding to get to my chosen spot, all concerns get forgotten when I’m tired!
I even camped in the middle of a roundabout once on the outskirts of Nantes. Woke up being overlooked by a massive Jesus statue, not religious at all but he looked after me well!

I'm also planning a Good Friday one, either Fan Gihyrich area sleeping in a quarry, or Gwyrnfe reservoir area.
