Best of luck to him. I did stick it in the 'film you may enjoy' thread but it rightly deserves its own.
It stirred up an idea I've had for a while, bike the 14 (15 now) peaks! However, Tryfan would be interesting and Crib Coch is my nemesis!

Fair play but I recall Paul Tattersal saying after he did them that it was a waste of time. Carry your bike up (and down in most cases) 282 mountains.....

He's doing a grand job of recording what bits are actually rideable. That's also changed quite a bit since Paul's days given the capabilities of modern bikes.

Yeah met him on a few hills and fair play.
Did have a discussion with him the first time we met when he told me that he would be the very first person ever to attempt and potentially complete the Munro’s by bike. Had to break it to him that it’s already been done.
Think I would be getting a kids balance bike to carry up some of the difficult ones.
But it’s a great film and makes me desperate to get back into the hills.

I like it, excellent film. It's almost old school in its outlay/idea of seeing what can and can't be ridden on a bike. Heading off to the well known walking/scrambling routes and seeing if a bike would go up/down.
Its a bit like when people used to take their mountain bikes up and over Grib Goch, went know its probably not the most fun day out we could have with a bike but the possibility was explored

Sounds like a great idea! I guess with Grib Goch you go do Snowdon Crib Y DdysgL first and then turn back once the summit of Grib Goch is done? Probably no need to do the whole ridge (and probably the same with Tryfan, ascend and descend from the south). Dunnosummittoppler wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 4:53 pm Best of luck to him. I've got an old MTB guide book to mid-Wales and aside from how far and how much climbing, it also includes details of how much carrying you'll be doing The cover probably sums up the contents very well

I took my bike up and over the 3 peaks. Sca Fell was an utterly pointless walk and Ben Nevis equally bad due to the amount of walkers. I did it as a protest against the van based three peakers. I must watch this film as I resolved never to do anything so stupid again.

Re: You'll probably enjoy this ...
I know a couple of loons who borrowed our tandem so they could ride between the three peaks, including a rock climb up each and a parapente/fly off the tops. Don't think the weather allowed any flying and some of the climbing was a bit wet and slippery. Lots of gear to carry/transport. Mad dogs and Englishmen eh?

I've done 9 of the 15 and yeah the Crib and Tryfan would be the *'nasty' ones. I reckon I could easily bag Yr Elen (which has been on my to do for a while), Elidir Fawr and Y Garn are doable and with a bit of a scramble to summit Glyder Fawr. So 13 out of 15 won't be too bad.voodoo_simon wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 10:47 amSounds like a great idea!
