If you come across a load of trees like this on your travels

They are more than likely held up with re-useable cable ties like this (bottom 1)

They are very useful loads of things and might just get you out of the poop 1 of the days, tarp fixings, bike repairs, attaching stuff to the bike etc etc. I always carry a couple.
Heres my GPS mount held on using a couple. It has never budged and is easy to remove.

Not enough people making re-usable cable ties if you ask me.

You can re-use them if you can be bothered...just get a small knife blade into the clip and ping it back ;)

Google is your friend if you want them. Certainly makes it less likely the rabbits will get those young trees after Hux has been pilfering ;)

Those cable ties on the trees for a reason - why steal them when they are pennies to buy online?

Oh dear! I didn't realise that you could buy them a couple at a time, the forestry one's seem to only come in packs of 100 and I doubt I will ever need that many. I carry a few that were taken off the posts when the trees were big enough to be rabbit proof. I was merely pointing out that they are useful in an emergency and may be of use to someone someday. The Forestry Commission plant 24 million trees a year so I don't think they would miss a couple of cable ties taken from an appropriate tree. :)

Second tip of the day: rather than taking a tie off the first guard you find, have a look down the tube first and find one where the tree has died :|

I use these http://www.maplin.co.uk/releasable-cable-ties-333.

Been trying to find the black ones that just have a tiny post to release them but only been able to find the big muckle ones from Maplin.

Cable tie fans, you should check out the range of cable ties available to you, here's a pretty good selection:

I did once go through a phase of colour matching cable ties on my bike

Hooray, at last a cable tie post on BB!

.... was wondering how long it would take. Most enjoyable now that it's here :D

(I re-cycle the ones I pick up off the pavement, yes I know ...sad)
