do they stand away from the fork ?

I can check in the morning for you Tony. From memory the "button" that screws into the mount sits several mm out from the tubing and the cage itself is maybe half that so there's a bit of a gap.

They stand away like a botte cage stands away from the frame.

The Tailfin cages look interesting but I'm not sure they stand away from the forks looking at them.

As Lazarus says ,they are a good bit away from the forks tony,but depending on how you pack the bags the roll over closure may rub a little

Yes Tony, as said they stand away from the leg. The new cages are a little different from the old version and IMO better. There's less strapping and the cage is more rigid.
