Yeh I'm not taking that much, but it's helping me get to 170-190g and I'm 112kg just now, and shrinking 😁. IIRC the rda is only 50g but that essentially a minimum for sedentary folk.

I'm not athlete, but last month did 40 hours between, cycling, walking, swimming, plus I do some body weight stuff. With better weather and not WFH that would be higher.

With luck you'll also get some benefits to satiety. Worth keeping an eye on for sure.

I read that as trying to get to 170-190kg, in which case this is the wrong thread  Does protein have any benefits for eyesight? Perhaps just new glasses would help me there.

Meh!

To be honest I think I've got meat sat in me as it's been hovering around 111.5kg all week but gone up this morning.

As for the protein thingy - my only reason for increasing my intake via powdered drinks is to attempt to burn fat instead of muscle when running a decent calorie deficit over a good few days.

Have just taken delivery of a months supply of Huel breakfasts and lunches to try.

My enemy at the minute is the need to grab meals quickly while flat-out with work/kids/both which leads to convenience eating so am hoping this will help.

Be interested to here how you find the Huel, though having looked into it before I don't think it's for me.

I'm pottering about hoping the need to sit comes in before weigh-in too :-bd

A bit more exercise than last week and a bit less snacking seems to have done the trick.

0.7kg this week 😁 and there's not been a deposit yet today, so I reckon it's come up 1kg if there had been ðŸĪ”😂

A good rate of loss anyway and seems sustainable. I definitely feel a bit fuller with the couple of scoops of protein a day (60g), but not sure if that also is slowing the bowels somewhat?

Keep it up guy :-bd

29/01/21: 69.1kg (-1.1kg)
05/02/21: 68.2kg (-0.9kg)

Target: 60kg by 12/06/21.

Slightly ahead of schedule, though I'm expecting a bit of weight gain next week due to starting to take creatine again.

Edit - Ahh crap, superbowl on Sunday, that's definitely not going to help.

Cheers, and me too. It's a tough balance right now to still train, but also not anger my hip too much (sleeping is hell once I've set it off). Hoping that eventually my body just learns to ignore it though. I mostly get through the day without too much pain.

On the earlier subject of protein... I just screwed up my portioning on my batch cooked Jamaican Jerk Chicken. Ended up with 60g of protein per portion... a little over the top!

So yesterday was a cheat day due to the Superbowl...

2.2kg gained in a single day and I didn't even eat that much! In my experience as long as I'm good for the rest of the week it usually drops back off (mostly water weight), but it always astonishes me just how sensitive my body is to bad food when I've been strict for a while.

I'm the same. Regular weighing is useful as a way to remember there's actually quite a lot of fluctuation daily due to a range of factors

Start 144kg
8/01/21 - 144kg
22/01/21 - 148kg
29/01/21 - 147kg
11/02/21 - 147kg

A day early I think I might weigh in every two weeks, it is slow progress, while I am not moving weight I am seeing better gains elsewhere in terms of energy and well being.

I'd say I'm 80% following my own rules at this point but it's hard running a calorie deficit along side a really hard physical job in freezing conditions (-12°c yesterday and today) and it's been impossible to shoehorn any exercise into the week so far.

Still, lost some weight so can't really complain.

Marathon not a Sprint etc...
Hi girth folk,
Firstly well done keep it up. Just Eat 3 good meal a day, no snacking..

Firstly I don't know what I weight, I guess 12+st./80kg?
My wife threw out the scales! ðŸĪĢ😁
Seriously she's 5'8" and size 8-10, it wasn't about her, our daughter was getting a little unhealthily obsessed about her weigh size 6-8 late teens. So it was for her...
They have noticed I have an increased waistline... I guess I've gone from 10st/65kg to over 12st/80kg over the last decade. :| Just in the waist line, not the best place..
Hmm
I must just stick to plain savory food.. Or eat savoury oat biscuits or chickpeas if I want to snack. Instant appetite killers..

Avoid sweet or foods with hidden sugar, especial sauces /dressing etc. Less processed the better. Its processed food that puts on weight, and makes us, unnecessarily hungry again or grave more. Sounds like you need a little insulation working at - 12°c. If you get fitter, and put on muscle, you gain weight but loose inches or cm in euro land. You also get more energy, which in turn increase metabolic rate and body fat consumption.
Don't beat your self up with th Kg numbers..
keep up fella.
Edit:
Your on a folks gone down to 3 meals, a day no snacking! And stay active, just moving, it doesn't need to be a workout.
just mean on your feet or fidgeting! Walk dont use the lift./car if possible.
When I was running I got fitting and never lost an ounce. My cardio vastly improved. But my waist lines was constant... About 34 inches. I was 29 inch when I married at 30 so it's, all relative.
Hmmm

0.5kg down this week which has been an exercise recovery week. Feeling pretty good and sustainable with 2300cals a day.

Just started my new training plan on zwift so , other than the fact it's my wife's birthday this weekend we'll see if that has much affect with calories burn as it builds

No weigh-in for me this week.

No scales where I'm at (I'm away for the weekend). I'll definitely gain a bit but hopefully not too much.

Not too worried as back to it on Monday.....

Not too bad a week (birthday in there too but a bit restrained this year) and seemed to have got it moving again..... as above sticking to lower (not 'no') carbs and more savoury/no sweets generally. Massive fan of well buttered toast - thats on the treats list now too.

Looking like everyone is making good progress - nice one!

What's your Zwift name.. I'll find you on there... helping me get the aerobic system moving again! I like it (in a very different way to a bike ride) :-bd
