I'm currently trying (when I'm being diligent) to do a 400 kcal (savoury Huel) breakfast, a no carb lunch (in the ~600 kcal region) and then a nice (usually low-ish carb) dinner of up to 800-1000 kcals (including a bit of dark chocolate dessert).

Works great.....when I do it.

It's when life goes off-piste that I seem to jump on the opportunity to snaffle all the crap I know I need to avoid (I'm an idiot!).

[Edit: I up this when doing anything biggish on the bike etc...]

I'm not bothering this week. Honestly, my heart's just not in it at the moment. I've got a hundred excuses but..
I'm sure it will come back to me and I'll try again then.

Keep it up, I'll be back in the game soon I hope :-bd
Fair enough, motivation and the will to put the effort in ebbs and flows - don't beat yourself up about it, try not to stray too far from the righteous path and then get back to it when you feel you've got it in you again. :-bd

I'm generally on 500-600 breakfast, 700-800 lunch and the rest at tea. Maybe a tin of irish stew or something might do me, but not a normal tin if soup.

Well done by the way. :-bd

I'll maybe give it a try!
I am keeping to about 1800 to 2000 calories a day, cereal or porridge for breakfast and a normal diner. snacks are normally a slice or two of fruit bread or grapes, so far it is working, as I change I will adapt my food to compensate.
Well done Loki... inspirational and thanks for sharing...

01/01/21: 72.5kg
-------------
05/03/21: 65.8kg (-0.9kg)
12/03/21: 65.0kg (-0.8kg)
17/03/21: 64.1 (-0.9kg)

Target: 60kg by 12/06/21.
-------------

Had a cheat day last weekend (ironically only because I was losing weight too fast), put on a kg and my body seemed determined to lock itself to that weight. Only today that I've started losing again, frustrating.

Still, on target.

Slowed progress... my body has needed feeding in recent weeks but 8 kg in 11 weeks has felt OK.

I've managed to get through the whole of an 11 week Zwift program without missing any sessions - a final lighter week this week. I've dropped my resting HR by 20-25bpm in 12 weeks and have increased my threshold power at lower HRs so pleased with progress here. Will begin thinking about what's next, including some trail running and more outdoor riding now we've had some more freedoms introduced here finally, and the evenings are lighter.

Interestingly, that's almost exactly the same as me!

We're clearly kicking arse.

Edit- Though my fitness is barely holding on due to the calorie deficit. But obviously we're at slightly different stages of that process.

85.9kg (Jan 1st) then a midweek weight to spur me on.
84.0kg (Jan 8th)
83.1kg (Jan 15th) the power of not scoffing biscuits & chocs!
84.0kg (Jan 29th)
83.5kg (just... 6th Feb)
83.9kg (12/2/2021)
84.3kg (19/2/2021)
[Edit after yesterdays 85.4] 84.5kg (27/2/2021)
83.6kg (12/3/2021)
85.5kg (23/3/2021) - obviously been a poor few days and looks like my round trip commutes might be connected to the weight-on. I reckon I obviously overeat in the thought that I've lost calories. Must get a grip

I'm feeling a bit like my arse has been getting kicked - having a resting week will help reset I hope and then I can look at diet quality/content/?deficit again to get things moving... I do feel much better than the hibernated/slothful me of Sept- Dec 2020... being here, participating on this has helped with that focus so thanks all :-bd

I'm going to start specifically fuelling for rides / training as of this week. My biggest meal will come an hour or so before (carb heavy), and I'll likely use a calorie source of some sort during. Then much lighter afterwards.

I normally wouldn't, but I'm definitely struggling to complete stuff that shouldn't be impossible. Nearly there though, I think maybe 6 weeks and I can take my foot off the gas.

A bit of a mixed week but counteracted by a good amount of exercise.

Gonna have wait until tomorrow as I'm still away on a nano-bike-trip.

Three days of riding my bike in lovely weather BUT my back (and fitness due to the work/back issues) had been lacking so only ~50km each day and then lots of stretching, medication and rest (I shouldn't have done it but I feared that 3rd lockdown was going to be announced last night - it wasn't in the end :-bd ).

So lots of exercise and not too much eating as nothing is open.

Fingers crossed for a good result in the morning.....

Start 01/01/21, 97.7kg
Last 20/2/21, 96.8kg

Friday 26/03/21, 98kg

Going the wrong way. I know its not much but its still disappointing, but not surprising.
My heart is just not in it still, but its clear I need to get it under control and going in the right direction. Must get my head in the right place.

That makes 9kg since January.

Really rough week. My high end power is completely gone so I've ended up swapping a lot of my VO2max work to endurance. Definitely seems to be a choice between diet and being able to train properly when I'm down at lower body fat levels.

Cheat day today because of an event I've got arranged (drinking!), so I'm expecting a lower drop next week.

What sort of lower BF levels are we talking? 0.6kg if you are low BF in a week is probably fairly significant, where as if you're my size....

I've felt low energy for cycling this week and put it down to some post-jab effect even though I've not felt bad, but seeing my scales this morning it's more than likely just lack of fuel.

Using the US navy method I'm about 15% body fat, most of which is around my belly, so I'm guessing that Richard is aiming for single digits

Realistically I'm mid to low teens at the moment, but I'm not going to pull out the calipers to check.

Some muscle striation here and there. Quads, upper chest, delts. Upper abs and obliques showing, lower ones never will due to loose skin.

I weigh more than most things and my recent efforts to counter this have been pathetic!

Had a great trip away last week but obviously ate too much and treated myself to a few too many celebratory ales.

And since then I seem to have just given up on life and am just stuffing my face with whatever crap I fancy - idiot!

Lockdown v3.0 announced on Wednesday so no travel and exercise only within a 10km radius (made more restrictive when you live in a valley with unrideable steep sides and residual snow cover) and the kids back at home.

Struggling to muster much optimism for life at the minute and leaning on comfort eating to cope. :-bd

26/3/2021: 106.6kg
2/4/2021: 106.6kg

Suspiciously exactly the same weight after a week of similar  It is what it is on the scales, but pretty sure I'm seeing a difference. I did eat more bready carbs yesterday than usual (still within calories), so could just be more water held in with them. Yet to poo too!

Back is well enough not to affect me this week, but a decent ride on Saturday saw my Less-than-bionic knee blow up with 3 days of total rest for it, but since then some walking and 30-50min spins. Still probably 8.5 hours between cycling walking and swimming since last weigh in. Think I need to stop and rest it more though as it's niggling this morning.

Sorry to hear that Gairym, just got to do what you can to keep on keeping on in those circumstances. Hopefully things pull around before too long.

Time to join the party.
Got a shock when I weighed in on 24th February. Weight 87.2kg.
This morning I’m 82kg. So far so good with a near zero added sugar diet, no more cream on breakfast and portion control.
Think I’ve done the easy bit and am aiming for 76kg (according to the formula in Racing Weight).
Hopeful that the weekly weigh in will help me along.
If you are going through hell, keep going.

Only ~2.5kg away but it feels like an age. I need to be careful I don't try to rush it as I've already had to tweak the training to account for the lack of calories. Still, when I do get there it will be nice to modify my diet to maintain, rather than lose!

Edit - Christ, that "race weight" site thinks I should be 10% bodyfat at race weight. Bollocks to that, I know from experience how horrible I tend to feel around 10%.

No exercise this week due to rolling my ankle so wasn’t expecting any loss and I know the weight gain was all from the bbq last night so on to next week. 5kg to reach my racing weight apparently!

Thanks dude!

I'm just feeling a little sorry for myself (whilst simultaneously feeling very angry with myself).

Got a BBQ tomorrow and then I'm going to quit beer for a bit!
