Same here wit biscuits and crisps.Kryptonite!

The last two days I managed to get myself allowed back to the office. What a relief! I got up and cycled (10km each way) and aside from that just being there I was more active, even the toilet at work seemed like a trek compared to a few metres at home. Felt so much better for not working in our kitchen.

my target is below 11st (70kg).
currently I weigh an this has been on a steady increase with lock down. my waist has gone up 4 inches fron 33" to 37" which is the worst place to carry weight.

02/07/21 76.5kg (12 St 6oz)
a good 25 mile mainly off road cycle has brobably done some good, and a few climbing sessions. I am not inspired to run, I was told that a steady day or morning walking does more good... activating fat rather that muscular glycogen burning.... Hmm time will tell.
I hope you think you know, what I might of exactly meant.

01/01/21: 72.5kg
-------------
Original target hit in May (60kg)
New Target: Sub 63kg (Maintaining)
-------------
02/07/2021: 62.9kg
09/07/2021: 62.5kg (-0.4kg)

Still not quite right after my last event, but I've started scaling the training back up again. Will just have to see how I go.

Diet is "OK", but I honestly struggle with higher calorie intake as I start to fill the extra with alcohol and random unhealthy food.

10/07/21 76. 5kg 12st 6lb, no change.
it was lower in the week, afew days after a 20mile hilly club ride, so not dehydration, must have been last nights fish supper...also got a few 'bouldering' sessions.. (bouldering and intense gymnastic version of rock climbing, shorter harder routes, only allowed to use certain hand or foot holds..)

I'm gonna attempt an Everesting on 31st of July. Obviously I don't think I've got the legs for it but gonna give it my best shot.

Point being I'm attempting to lose 5kg in these 4 weeks before it. Managed to get to down to 83.3kg so just a few kg remaining. Lowest I ever got in the last few years has been about 82kg during this years month of fasting.

Hopefully it'll take some pressure of the knees and give me the mental training to (try and) enjoy the Bearbones200 (maybe finish it too!)...

I see I'm one of the few people still here (again!).

Done the week without alcohol as I was getting into a bad habit. Has made it a bit easier to work out my calorie intake too... hopefully will avoid (alcohol) binging on the weekend.

Still really tired for some reason. No idea what's going on there.

Just got off the ferry back to a grey, damp, 11c Shetland. Bliss after the tropical heat of North Yorkshire.

No intention of weighing in this morning (scales might break!) , but I'm back with the program with phase 2 starting today and will weigh in next Friday. That will give.me chance to hide some of the embarrassing holiday gains...

I'd like to blame this insanely hot weather, but it's been a really bad week for me diet wise. Stuck to the training (which is astonishing given the garage has been 33c at times), but yeah... definitely overcompensated with the food.

Sigh...

Im back home after 2 weeks of long days at work living off something and chips in the canteen followed by take out food and hotels. I feel like crap, my mood, health and enjoyment on the bike have taken a big dip.

Similar to moder-dye, im ready for phase 2

Ive tried to restart a few times and haven't, however, im feeling like its time to go again. So, giving myself yet another chance to do it right.

Target 90kg by end of year. Which I know is achievable.
Current 98.5kg

Sorry to hear you've had a rough time FLV, but happy to have a brother in arms for phase 2 :-bd

Got a 1.30h ride and 25min swim in yesterday after unpacking and sorting things out and back to a sensible diet with no takeaways.

Unless anything has changed in my absence I'll be back to cycling to the office when weather and other commitments allow, a hilly 10km each way, so that'll help along with being generally more active when at the office.

Cheers.

Feeling quite up for it now. Family time today, but I'll get an hour or two on the bike later. I'm sure I will feel even better after that.

I'm on the very same page - ready to get right back on the weight loss horsey and undo some of the stupid.

Not ready to stand on scales yet as I have royally kicked the arse out of ~3 weeks home alone with no wife/kids.

Lots of work, LOTS of riding, lots of sleep, LOTS of unhealthy pork products, lots and lots of long, hot baths and far too little concern for counting how many über high quality craft beers have been drunken'd - enough is enough!!!

Ok day 1 of (at least) a month of zero booze and making a real effort to eat sensibly again.

Good work everyone who's managed to behave and good luck to the rest of us as we attempt to retake control..... :-bd

FFS, I'm up a solid KG just from this weekend. Annoyed with myself, seems I'm all but incapable at doing "moderation".

I'm either fully on, or fully off.

26/12/2020: 121.7kg
...
30/7/2021: 106kg

So unsurprisingly 3 weeks holiday with no monitoring and I'm up to 106kg. 90kg by Xmas would be good.

18/06/2021 69.4
30/07/2021 69.9

I've not really been monitoring my food intake for a while but as soon as I stop I seem to gradually start gaining weight. My eldest is a faddy fussy grazer so there's always an assortment of snacks around the house to tempt me and that's not going to change so I need to just resist more.

Ended up adding about 4kg of weight whilst I was trying to remove it in prep for an 'Everesting'. Decided it'd be too boring anyway but will use it as an opportunity to do some research and possibly lose some weight in the process.

Research Q being:

"How many feet of climbing can I do on ZamZam* alone before I feel it's time to chuck in the towel".

Hopefully depart at about 0400 and I have a supply of about 7 litres. Weight today has been 84.2kg so am expecting to come back weighing (will weigh myself the day after as per normal controls) about 82kg InshaAllah. I also expect I'll hopefully manage at least 50 climbs with 83 bieng the full Everesting of 'The Jossie' which is my chosen climb.

*ZamZam - according to islam - being the water from the well at Mekkah which was found by Hagar and her son... bit more detail here

Looks like I have to go to work. But will attempt to still come back weighing less than when I went. Just won't eat much (east peasy)

Cheers Shaf. Good luck with your climbing, unless you mean that you are replacing that with work, in which case I hope it's not too crazy.

The tiny change is likely just less water on board, but I'll take it for now. I still find it a struggle to start, but hopefully once I see some real progress, it will get easier mentally, motivation wise. The first few weeks are rather up and down generally until it clicks into space.

I've been thinking about long term, which is one of the things that makes it hard to start. Basically there are behaviours I just can't dip in and out of if I want long term benefits. Junk foods, not just fast food but chocolate and crisps etc plus... Beer just can't be part of my consumption long term. I can be moderate for a while, but it just builds.

I know a few others must be the same, so I wonder what feeling is of just ignoring these things long term?
(Not just beer, silly things like biscuits or crisps which add very little value outside of a quick fix)

Any thoughts and tips for the fat fighters?

It’s only when I started tracking everything I ate that I realised just how many little snacks I was eating in a day. When I track my food I tend to lose weight because anything I eat is a conscious decision. The issue I always have is that I get bored tracking so I can stick it out for 3 months at a time and then I slowly but surely drift back into bad habits. My long term aim isn’t to lose weight as such, it’s to try and get into healthier eating habits.
