Oh yes, puppy on Sat. I was up at 5 yesterday playing with a rubber chicken and I believe she thinks her name is 'have a wee'

Ha, we've been using 'busy busy'

I spent the first few nights 'bivvying' on the kitchen floor by his cage to get him used to being there. Was fine after that. By bivvying I mean mat and quilt, didn't need bivvy bag...

Deerhound Dave. This is her at 10 weeks, she's demolishing about a kilo of food a day at present.

If she gets on with it (probably once she's off puppy food) then working dog food is very cost effective. Dry food in big sacks. If you want the link to supplier / shop let me know.

Our lab lives on it and it suits her :-bd

The lurchers have always eaten that Tim. Much cheaper than the forty quid a bag stuff she's on now

Maybe that's why they're called Dearhounds. Give it 6 months and you'll be buying a saddle

They are indeed lovely. My old lurcher 'Roo' was Deerhound cross and she was a fantastic dog. A few months after I lost her, I had a chance meeting in Newtown with a couple who breed Deerhounds. I'd already trawled the lurcher rescue centres but they seem to be making it overly difficult to adopt these days, so Dee generously bought me a pup for my birthday next year.

I've called her 'Ruby' ... Roo was Roo(A) and this is Roo(B)

We feed our lurcher that. Still doesn't seem inclined to do any work...

PS What's the story behind the photo CM?

 mine does sweet FA too despite the food. A true lab, either wanting fed or sleeping! Had a horrid time with her couple of nights ago which we think was a fit. Blimey they wheedle their way into your hearts

The photo was just one I nabbed from the Grauniad website. Just an excuse to pester Stu for some puppy photos really.

The Irish Guards’ new canine regimental mascot, an Irish wolfhound called Turlough Mor, and his handler, Drummer Adam Walsh of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards, at Wellington barracks
Not even the right breed

They do. I didn't even want a dog

Cheers. Need to share it. Glad you posted it, I was hoping Stu would post some puppy photos too
