Nantgwyllt trails

Post by Taylor »

Just popped on my faceache feed are new trails that have appeared behind the chapel by Caban Coch reservoir.
Anybody seen them yet? They're due to open in December.
Rowan Sorrell has built them so I'd expect flowy and swoopy if his other trail builds are anything to go by.

I saw they were doing some felling / clearing there at the start of the year but just assumed it was forestry work.

He's got a great eye but of some of the stuff I've seen they tend to be dirt construction so not always that durable. Whatever, legitimate new trails are almost always :-bd

:-bd I'll check them out next time I'm back there...

I wonder if they'll be as good as the bridleway that came down alongside the church used to be? Was a sad day when that got ripped up for the hydroelectric cables to be laid.

Yes, because all of those lovely drove roads, salt ways and green lanes just magically popped into existence.

Don’t worry, I’ll get my own panda.

Good news, and a nice bit of extra trail miles in an already great location. I can see the benefit of having different kinds of mtbing to suit tastes and ability. It'd be nice to add a bit of trail centre singletrack to a longer ride in the area, next time i'm there.
