Ramin 3+ to Fronter (V1) parts swap

Post by AndyTheBikeGuy »

Hi all,

I'm going to move the components over from a Ramin 3+ to a Frontier Rigid (v1) for a friend. (Pinnacle is a M, he's an XL, loves Rigid, just bike is too small). Just hoping I can get some advice from the hive mind on anything I'm missing.

I notice the Frontier has 141 QR rear spacing. What's the best way to convert the standard QR 3+ wheels to 141?

Does anyone know if the front is boost too? If so, what's the spacing on that?

Cheers,

Andy

Boost 141. That'll be a PITA then - Ramin cranks and wheels are no-go. Well, cranks can be used/bodged. The wheels will need so much faff to find axles and get discs lined up that you'll wish you'd just sold them and bought some Boost QR wheels, if they're available.

That's the conclusion I came to, friend cancelled the Frontier frame order to save on the hassle. Back to hunting for a cheap XL bike for him.

Cheers for the info, saved faffing with it.

as Frontier's are only £799 for a complete bike or £299 for F&F , pretty sure your mate could recoup around £350/£400 sellling the Ramin at the moment and thus get a new and arguably better specced bike for not much more than buying the F&F

It was a V1 frame and fork he was getting which is on at £199 at the mo. I think that's what he'll probably end up doing. Not sure a used Ramin 3+ would be worth that much would it?

Seems to be a sellers market at present and the 3+ is a cracking bike.
May the bridges you burn light your way
