99p P&P. Joe's shop for bikepacking gear

The Borah Gear bivi thread peeked my interest and I missed out on Chews used one but lucky for me and Joe someone directed me to The Shop.... so I just ordered a Tyvek bivi at a very reasonable price.
I thought that was worth bumping this thread back onto the first page for a bit more exposure.

Bridget... pls may I ask. Does the Tivek need silicon adding like we do to the Borahs... to stop slipping and sliding away in the middle of the night.

He might just get another Kerching. Hope he's happy with me buying off the shop with all my customer relation problems of recent

Normal Tyvek (house wrap) is as slippery as an eel dipped in butter. This can be mitigated some by washing it in a machine.
The stuff this is made from - no idea.
My plan is to use the bivi without a ground cloth so, slippy or not, it shouldn’t really matter.

I don't find them particularly slippy. I haven't tried sleeping in one on a slope right enough, but then I do tend to try to avoid that. He is happy to accept a return if you weren't happy with it, as long as you just unrolled it inside or on a clean tarp or something.

Very professional service all round with order tracking and a reasonable delivery time.

The bivi itself feels nice and light. It’s packed down to the size of a tall-boy can. It’s not very compressible, so it may end up packed folded and rolled. It’s crinkles a bit but not too much and it’s very white
All things being equal it’ll get used in anger mid May on my Dartmoor Spring Thing.
I’ll report my findings after that.

Have fun with the bivvy bag Luneranger. I think I might take mine out on Monday night with one of Joe's tarp tents for a quick overnighter once that's allowed again. I carry my bivvy bag with me all the time now when I take the bike out. It's nice to sit on for a lunch stop and just good to carry in case I fell off or something and needed to keep warm and dry for a bit.

a few goodies from the Joe's shop.

the piezo lighter has a stronger spark than an old fag lighter.
blimey that stoves is small & compact......and so light 1oz/25g to boot..
now if they could make a titanium gas cylinder... under 40g at least!

yes the stove is really impressive. but tell Joe I only need this one!
Its surprisingly compact ideal for multi day adventures.

I didn't need a new tarp*, but ordered the Aricxi shaped tarp as there was only 2 left and to make up the order on couple of the small stuff sacks that I ordered.

Joe was going to get a friend to take over the shop while he is away but they are all going away too so he is going to have to close down for a wee while.
