why exactly should you take more stuff?
most of my longer trips take me to remote places which require carrying food/fuel (and other consumables) for many days or even a month. It's for such trips where I really get nerdy about weight savings.

It was more tour than race and to be fair that does include the clothes he was wearing. It doesn't seem to slow him down though.

In 2018 my strava stats showed I'd done 421,827 feet of climbing for the year, I was quite pleased with this until I saw that Tim had done over 1.3 million feet :o Mind you he had done over 15 thousand miles so the climbs are bound to add up
