just tried a Hefe-Weiß naturtrüb bier* (Paulaner München) , I not sure what I make of it to be honest, it must have been OK because the glass & bottle are empty.
*Goo(g)le translate has informed me this:
'PAULANER Yeast Wheat Beer
NATURALLY CLOUDY
Brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law.
Paulaner Brauerei Gruppe GmbH & Co. KGaA.
Ohlmüllerstr. 42, 81541 Munich,
Germany.'
and later I guess this bit only French translates to
'...serious consequences, do not give to children...'.
so, it only affect the French kids.. or other Europeans don't care/don't let their kid near booze?

Oh I love the naturtruebe Hefeweissbier, my favourite, also very good in alcohol free version, very refreshing on a summer's day, and oh so very healthy for reasons I can't quite recall...isotonic probably, and the yeast, vit B12...
My mum has an endless repertoire of stories/ scientific reasons why whatever tipple she happens to fancy drinking is actually very healthy, and that is the only reason she drinks it of course

Hot chocolate with brandy.

Or rather will be drinking very shortly, once the water has boiled and I have snuggled myself into my hammock.

BAM in progress. Anyone else out?

nah - still recovering from last night's graveyard shift here. Sleep well!

Actually, I'll see your chocobrandy and raise you a vanilla stout. I'm only quaffing it for research purposes though (*). I'm going to feel really bad now if you pass away overnight from some sort of infectious disease contracted by stroking rats. If you hear any squeaking under your hammock just ignore them.

(*) researching whether I want to buy any more next time I"m in Eyam.

Interesting that the last post on here was 18th December. So one can only assume that everyone had a dry Christmas never mind a dry January.

I received no bottles for Christmas although I did get a pair of socks.

Anyway, it's Friday and the sun is considerably over the yardarm so it's time for a snifter. I'm still plagued with these bottles from Eyam Brewery that I purchased on December's BaM. "Bubonic Orange" chocolate orange stout this time.

Oh, and I don't wish to brag but I have now earned enough money such that I don't need to work for the rest of the year. Yay.

Just finished an espresso martini having polished off a raspberry mojito earlier. May have to pace myself a little at this rate.

It's five to five, and it's.... time for a little snifter I think

Sorry to be a stuck record (*) with these stouts but "Peeling Good" sounds like an appropriate name for a cheery Friday. Am consuming along with a "Selwyn's Seaweed Snack" from Swansea, which is an interesting combination, whilst perusing the map for February's BaM, so a pleasantly relaxing evening all round really.

(*) stuck record: this phrase may not resonate with anyone under the age of about 40. Can CD's stick? Can spotify stick?

Nice cup of tea, cosy in my sleeping bag under my tarp, which is just about clinging on in the hooly it's currently blowing, and provides a nice channel for the horizontal rain to drive through underneath
But it will be my best cuppa of the day, as it comes with the satisfaction of having completed February BAM :-bd

A pint (metric, approximate) of electrolyte drink. Regular club ride on local tracks last night. I love getting out for a couple of hours on a Monday night in the dregs of winter, and the chance of a pint after (one, imperial, Flying Gang Sabro and Galaxy NEIPA, 5.8%) but getting home at half 9, eating a big meal (stew and dumplings, vegan, thanks Dani, that's real love!) and going straight to bed is not a recipe for waking up feeling great. Not sure what the answer to that is.

Have any of our brethren up there in the frozen wastes visited this Aladdin's Cave?

All I need to find now is an equivalent collection of vanilla stouts....
