I've always dunked Tunnocks in my beer but now I don't even have to do that. Amazing. What will they think of next? Maltesers Beer? No... surely not... please....

And it's from the Glen Affric brewery, so on the HT550 route, or close to it, the ultimate bikepacking beer :-bd

Edit. A quick Google seems to show they're not actually in Glen Affric

Nice

I feel a bit cheated by the name/location though

I got a can of that Aldi milk stout - seems it took them a little while to reach my neck of the woods. As expected, it was thinner than I'd like, and pretty sweet, but tasty and for the price I can't complain. Might get some more. It wasn't a patch on the 12% liquorice vanilla cake stout I followed it up with (this was on Saturday) but I have to get my mate to bring me that over from Sweden, so considerably more cost/effort than walking to Aldi.

Would take me a while to get through more than one

Just had a St Mars of the Desert Amber Koelship IPA. Very nice - a juicy IPA yet subtly malty. Winner in my book.

Taken it down a notch with an Aldi "Studio 54" IPA I bought for when we had guests at the weekend (seems somewhat mean operating a two tier system but... you can take the boy of Yorkshire...). Not half bad TBH.

Siren Craft Brew's Broken Dream. Described as coffee, chocolate and speciality malts, 6.5%

It might be a school night but at least I'm drinking it at night, on the can it says it's a Breakfast Stout :o surely even boners wouldn't drink it at breakfast? We'll maybe on a trip but not at home

That's one of those annoying word pairs which have to be spoken with a deliberate pause or they slur together. When read aloud (well, in my head rather, or Mrs P would give me a funny look) they sounded like either Brechfa Stout (let me off the f/v) or breakfast out. Come to think of it, either are quite appropriate for bikepacking. I still curse my folks for my first and sur names which slur together - phone conversants think I'm an Irish-Swedish hybrid.

If you have it for breakfast you're likely to slur all your words not just the name of the beer

Well it's CF now, so we can break cover again.

Having one of those free Brewdog lagers. I'm afraid it hasn't convinced me to buy any more. Don't see the point of lager really - even the supposedly top quality ones from around the world. Very little complexity, variety, etc. No, sorry, but it's true. "Thirst quenching on a summer's day" you say? So is H2O.

I'll just have to follow it up with another of those Tunnock's jobbies to remind myself that I possess taste buds.

My first cup of black coffee of the day, in a frost covered hammock in the garden, listening to the birds and watching the sun come up. Been awake for ages but couldn't bring myself to leave the warm sleeping bag

I’m currently in the odd situation where the missus made up a 10 portion ‘big brew’ cocktail, basically a scaled up espresso martini, for her birthday which I’ve drunk about 60% of, where I’m simultaneously tipsy and hopped up on caffeine.

Not drinking it now (though happily would at 9am), but we have a ridiculously expensive bottle of "Rumbullion" spiced rum, and it's bloody delicious. Very good with ginger ale, or very drinkable straight too :-bd

Had a cider a bit ago while I was out in the garden, because it's summer: there, I said it :o Dangerous stuff.

Can of Jaipur now, which I bought for guests, but, as usually happens, am drinking myself. Maybe it's because I haven't asked anyone round? Ah well, seems to be working well for me
