Good tough stuff sacks / bags for fork mount cages?

I have a fork with three-mounts for e.g. gorilla cages or the passport style equivalent.

What I'm wondering is where to find a sufficiently durable bag or stuff sack that works well for these?

Doesn't necessarily need to be waterproof but my thinking is that many stuff sacks won't necessarily be durable enough if potentially ripped on bushes and rocks and the like?

Thanks.

I bought a couple of 5L heavy pvc dry bags for my fatty forks, I think they’re miltec brand but there’s loads out there

I thought the same. I have a pair of these Lomo ones, which are pretty heavy duty: https://www.lomo.co.uk/acatalog/dry-bag ... ml#SID=117 Out of stock at the moment though. They're a little wider than they need to be, but they work OK.

eBay has loads of cheap roll to dry bags.
As above I got the heavy duty pvc type, on the fork leg the bag is pretty exposed to accidental damage.

Obviously these are waaaay more expensive than a simple dry bag:
Alpkit Betonga, 3 litres, £34.99 currently £5 off...
Restrap Fork Bag, 5 litres, £39.99...

Try the Decathlon stand up paddleboard section, brand name Itiwit or somesuch, they do a very robust one in a range of sizes, the 5l one is perfect for sleep kit and clothes. Hi viz as well, cost about a tenner. Here's a pic of my setup.

Although they're a bit more expensive, that looks like the best answer to me.

Sea to Summit kit is nicely designed and made isn't it? I've got a couple of things from them an been impressed.

I found the Planet X / Podsacs 5 litre ones to be the right size and durability to go on anything cages on the forks.
Could fit a tent or sleeping bag and mat in each one.

Cheap too!

Thanks, several options I hadn't looked at before.

The Planet X options looked like good value but were out of stock so I went with a discounted sea to summit option.

Looks like good quality and should do the job!

Yeah, I think so too.
I damaged an old pair of Seal Line bags on a first traverse across Iceland. They were old and the PU coating had already started to delaminate. In Akureyri I got exactly what I needed, sturdy but not overbuilt Seatosummit Big River bags. After another traverse of Iceland later in the trip, they barely showed wear, despite very abrasive sand, lots of water and about 500 km's of bone shaking terrain, which is a bad mix for any fabric.

They also don't stick as much as other drybags do when packing. And when cold don't get as stiff as PVC bags do.

Then they have the handy loops, like Alpkit bags have.

Good stuff indeed.
