Waterfall competition...
Now I know my comps don't always go very well but I'll try again
Best waterfall pic (that you've taken in this month) wins (a tool pouch from the Stu collection but other options can be discussed and it might not be brandnew but almost new ).
The rules.
1. Five entries and the competition is on. So less than 5 shots by five different forum-users and it just doesn't go to voting.
2. Doesn't have to necessarily be during a bikepacking overnighter trip but a bike should be involved (so others might have scope for somewhere to hopefully ride to).
3. Competition closes end of the month but if there's a lack of entries and people state their plans to go fetch one (a waterfall pic) then it might just run til next month.
4. It's all a bit vague and, like most things on this forum, no hard/fast rules.
5. (Just thought of it) please try and make the pic as unadulterated as poss (bear-bikes allowed)...
6. No drone pics unless you can actually see the waterfall and just using the drone to get up close/personal.
______________
The comp was inspired by this chaps blog and write up https://traditionalfloats.blogspot.com/2019/06/?m=1 (thanks that person)... Waterfalls, ain't they wonderful

Perhaps not as artisticky a some, but I guarantee it was more fun than most. This is my Very Active Girlfriend and her son under the first (or last depending which way you go) of the falls on the Four Falls Walk in the Brecons. Bikes were involved because there were three of them on the rear rack of the car in the car park, and the next day we did Bike Park Wales.
Bloody great day out. We did the long route and it took a good five hours with a bit of swimming where we could, and lots of faffing for the lad. I recall the last 2-3 miles it simply pissed down, but we saw a family of dippers in the river, and Id never seen a one before, let alone a pack of them.

I'm just going outside ...

That's 4 waterfalls already
Ton, I looked up 'Dent waterfall' and it seems to be 'waterfall village' with so many in that small area. I think I counted 4 already in OS maps...

Re: Waterfall competition...
The waterfall/stream next to our bivi spot on the first night of our WRT ride from just 3 weeks ago
The river is the Afon Ysgethin about a KM upstream from Tal-y-bont, handy for a pint or two at The Ysgethin Inn before camping

Re: Waterfall competition...
Oh John... you would need to add a venue/name/area of waterfall to make the competition voting easier. It also add to the excitement that other people might also be ale to go take a peek looks gorgeousJohnClimber wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 6:37 pm The waterfall/stream next to our bivi spot on the first night of our WRT ride from just 3 weeks ago
