i have a snugpak softie whatever sleeping bag. i bought it 30 years ago, and used it for a few years doing polaris events and such.
it has been stored for 2o years in a old rucksack. i found it in the loft recently.
it packs small. i sleep warm. would it be ok to use?
it is clean and dry just very scrunched up.
would you use a 30 year old sleeping bag?

Shake it out and see if it still lofts. If it does, happy days.

Synthetic doesn't like being stored crushed Tony but you might get away with it. Only way to know is ......... give it to someone else, let them try it and if they don't spend all night shivering, ask for it back
May the bridges you burn light your way

I have a. 20 year old bag still in use without issue. Heavier and doe#n’t pack as small as what is available today, but it does the job. Easy way to find out if yours is fit for purpose ...

If it was stored in the rucksack uncompressed it'll be fine. Less warm than before but still should work OK. Try it out in the garden

bag has been hung up for 24 hours. it still looks like a flat shiney sheet. no loftation at all.
it is now in the bin.

My "good" down 4 season bag is about 25 years old. It's been stored in a big cloth bag for most of that time and is still like new. Still gets used for the occasional very cold night.

I 'won' a bag on fleabay about 3 years ago, very cheap, the postage cost
More than the bag !! It's an old school Karrimor and Agungilak collaboration
I think called a snow peak 20,000. For what I paid for it was worth
A punt, it's synthetic but still lofts really well, I store it soft of loosely folded,
It's extremely warm, warmer than my Buffalo super bag ( now sold), it's only
Downfall is it's bulk, but as a 3/4 season bag it's doable, no idea on its heritage
I've had a google and not much comes up on it, I like it
