Well I think that's me out of it.
I've had a slight twinge in my lower back for the last 24 hours (getting old is sh!te) so that will take a few days to recover enough.
Plus the ground will be so wet for the next week, it won't have dried out by the time the new and up coming North West travel ban with no overnight stays Covid restrictions come in for us at some time next week.
That will last until the end of the schools half term at the very least.

So can I still earn a badge if its done in the time in April?

Ooh, this riding sounds like a bit of an inconvenience doesn't it. Tell you what, don't bother and I'll just send you a badge or two, how about a nice black one and perhaps an orange one too?

New lever and caliper are here. I'm going to remove the existing lever, flush the hose / caliper with fresh oil, then try the new lever. Hopefully I don't need the new caliper as I can save myself £75 that way.

It is a pain really, I only do it as an excuse to eat as much as I want, and as a justification for having nice bikes

I don't want to put the kibosh on it but the forecast for this coming weekend looks quite good (light rain, sunny intervals, & gentle breeze) plus the water levels in streams drop off quite quickly in the area
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Exactly what I was thinking, next week towards the weekend looks a good weather slot, just a nonsense lockdown getting in the way.

Looking at the long term forecast, the longer people delay it the drier it should be

I'm fully expecting a massive storm to roll in and screw the people doing it late.

I have no real choice as to when I do it. It's either next week or do it when I'm maybe 10kg heavier at the end of the month (I have a holiday booked).

Would April be OK right enough then, or are we talking Global Warming timescales?

Aren’t you all locked down Rich for holidays and everything? Why don’t you do what JC has done and send an SAE to Stu for a badge? 😂

Thankfully I'm just outside the locked down area right now as I saw it coming and I didn't want to deal with the whole "papers please" madness when cycling / getting around for work. That said, I'm not convinced it's going to be long before everyone in Wales is locked down.

But yeah, JC's got the best plan I reckon.

Maybe you could do a special run of badges made out of rice paper - fine, so long as they don't get wet.

With all the talk of weather and such, it is perhaps worth reminding ourselves that on any other year, it'd be this coming weekend or nothing
