Road friendly 29” mtb tyres

Post by SeannyD »

Any recommendations for road friendly 29” mtb tyres ?
Thinking of having a set of spare wheels with more road friendly tyres when out cycling with my wife, she’s on a hybrid so mostly road or cycle path Cheers :-bd .

As 29er is the same as 700c you have a really wide choice as long as your rims aren’t too wide.
WTB Nano 29x2.1 make a good road as well as dry conditions off toad tyre. So do the various Schwalbe G-One tyres.
If you are going through hell, keep going.

If you’re looking at very dry Vittoria terreno’s are very quick on the road, I also like the Vittoria Mezcals which are much like a bigger Nano.
Mezcals are definitely more versatile, stick 50psi in them and they roll really well, lower pressures for more grip :-bd

I'd suggest WTB Riddlers for dry to damp conditions too.

Have you looked at the Schwalbe G-One range?
Fast rolling and sensible sizes on 29er/700
Work well on and off road thinking I might switch to G-One Bite for winter.
Zazen - nothing happens next this is it.

I'm running G-One allround atm in 27.5 X 2.8 and I'm shocked at how good they are.
May satan walk with you
