does anyone have have any interesting routes N to S Wales they would be willing to share??

Been made redundant so I have plenty of time on my hands and always wanted to do this.

Gpx file would be ideal 👌

I can't use/see gpx at the moment.

But can I ask -

Nearest big train stations either end?
% road/off road?
Brothels?

Cheers.

  Two superb criteria for choice of start/finish.

In my extremely limited - and always inadvertent I might add - experience of one and large experience of the other (but not "the other"), I believe all of your requirements will be met to a greater or lesser extent at Bangor, Llandudno Junction, Swansea, Port Talbot, Bridgend and Cardiff. If you time it correctly there are (or were until The Bug) even direct trains from one end to the other.

Sadly I am unable to advise whether or not both of your criteria can be satisfied at exactly the same time, but these things are always worth a try aren't they?

And stunningly one of them does/did give the, now incredibly rare in the UK, opportunity for a 3-course meal on the journey. Come to think of it I dunno why I haven't done it yet and have just added it to the bucket list. https://www.thetrainline.com/train-comp ... ness-class
https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2017 ... to-cardiff

"speeding through Herefordshire and up through Shropshire the entire train essentially became a pub with wheels. The sunlight faded into darkness and I spent some time sitting in Standard Class, where passengers were munching, drinking and chatting".

Calling MiddleAgedMadness, Pickers et al .... next BaM????!!!!

My hometown Llandudno Junction is centrally placed in north Wales. However not sure about the latter request, you could try Rhyl...

If you go onto The Racing Collective, they have a great route for XduroWales. You can get the GPX off the site.
I have done it twice and really enjoyed myself

Starts in Menai Bridge, but Bangor station is only 4 miles away and the route goes past! It finishes in Cardiff

I've been lucky enough to do it several ways, road and off-road and multiple routes too.
Stu will no doubt have a good option for you.

My choice of start for a fun, scenic route would be Llandudno Junction/Conwy. Then up onto the common from there, but of road, Llyn Cowlyd, Beyws y Coed, Penmachno, Coed Y Brenin, Dyfi, Mach, Nant y Moch, Elan Valley... then things get more optional. This time of year Doethie Valley isn't much fun as the ferns will have grown. So maybe Epynt, Fan Gyhirich, Strata Florida, Afan and to Mumbles to finish, or Gower if you want to go a bit further but really the only extra is then Cefn Bryn.

I've just ridden up through Wales and back on road over last few days, now on edge of Cotswolds on a lazy last day. Can post a route or some tips if tarmac is part of the plan.
