Yesterday I was playing fern briar nettle on overgrown paths trying to spot what if anything was being shielded by the ferns. How well I remember the gentle tug of a briar on clothing or the warm caress of a nettle on bare legs.

Then today it was announced that two cases of Babesiosis and TBE have been found here in Devon. Both are tick born one is from America (?) the other common in Europe. When I worked in Germany a TBE area there was a jab you could get against it but never heard of Babesiosis.
