Mitt recommendation?

Post by ootini »

I'm on my fourth pair of cheap and cheerful mitts now, they're either badly made, poorly padded or a weird shape and therefore uncomfortable. I've decided I should now by a "proper" pair.
What would you recommend for fingerless mitts?

My preference is for light/no padding (I use gel inserts under the bar tape), towelling on the thumb, and no adjustable wrist closure (I always find the velcro uncomfortable). If your tastes align with mine, you could do a lot worse than consider the Madison "Track" mitt:

Really like the Specialized Body Geometry ones.. in fact i tend to find their sizing really good for everything from shoes to helmets.

If you want mitts with a reasonable amount of padding I’d recommend Castelli Arenberg. Great for long rides on flat or drop bars IMO.
If you are going through hell, keep going.

I had this trouble for ages, so eventually got an old pair of the full finger gloves I liked (specialized BG I think) and cut the fingers off...
