ST&G Map

Post by ozboz »

Hiya, has or does anyone use the ST&G adventure map of UK for their BP treks ?
I came across it on the OS site, it looks ok and may save buying multiple OS maps for one trek ,
Cheers

Ah, doesn't look like it would replace an OS map. Might be handy for ideas though.

I didn't think they actually contained that much actual mapping detail? Certainly not enough to navigate with.

I've got the adventure map and there's not enough detail to use it to navigate.

If you're looking for a map that covers a larger area, have you looked at the Ordnance Survey Travel Maps? 1:100000 scale and enough detail if you were mainly on roads. I've got sheet 7 and that covers the whole of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Ok , thanks for replies , so I think I’ll need OS 17 and one more Due South , is it better to buy them hard copy or download on device ?

I'm assuming you mean OL17 which is northern Snowdonia and OL18 is the map south of it. They're 1:25k so there's plenty of detail. Explorer maps (which these are) feature a code on the inside which allows you to download a digital version of the paper map you've bought to a device ... best of both worlds and a handy back up.
