Somehow this thread led me to John Otway and a film I didn’t know about

We’ve just found out he’s playing a parish church down the road from us next year. Headbuts it is then!

Denise Chaila (her debut album Go Bravely and Duel Citizenship from an earlier ep) via the Bandcamp app. Managed to get one of her limited edition cd's as well.

Uhm, Maid of Ace. They remind me a bit of the Distillers. Don't click if you don't like punk - although, they can all ride a BMX better than you

Bach's Christmas Oratorio.

Anyone here into classical music? I'm just having a little phase... happens occasionally every few years....

Or, does anyone here do a bikepacking/ classical music combo? Someone I know recently told me he wild camped high in the mountains and listened to opera as the sun was rising all around him :o

I'll certainly enjoy some classical music if it's on but it not on. my go to list. I generally am doing some thing else whilst the music is one. so its background.

Yep, I cam attest to this. I rarely listen to music while I ride, but if I do, it's usually Rachmaninoff. I find sunrises are best accompanied by Vide Cor Meum, give it a go.

To make you feel at home V, I was listening to Katherine Jenkins singing Christmas hymns yesterday morning
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

It's OK, I've got Amyl (and The Sniffers) to fall back on. She doesn't seem to cheat at anything, and believe me I've checked very closely. My pal Jezzer was trying to convince me today to sign up for one of their, what I believe are called, young persons' popular music concerts next Summer.

Well I gave them a "fair go" as our Antipodean friends would say but, apologies V, I couldn't get along with them. Too slow for my kidney I'm afraid.

Was feeling a bit down this morning for no particular reason, so needed something 'Cheery Friday'. Ended up with Her Blondeness, which I suppose wasn't entirely surprising: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDCwRuqdd70.

Loads of ringing guitars, powerhouse tub-thumping by Mr Burke, plenty of random leaping around from herself along with lots of vocal range, growling and woohooeeooh-ing, etc etc. Yes, I'm in lurvvve for the 568th time.

Honestly, all the introspective plodding bollocks since late-70s punk is completely forgettable, may as well just wipe the lot and have done with it. 1960s/70s, now they were fun! (Although even Blondie had their off moments. "The Hardest Part"? "Rapture"? Ohhhhh dear...)

The Trashmen - covered numerous times yet still the best version. Makes me want to throw open the doors of a gunship and introduce the world to a 50 cal  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Gc4QTqslN4

... and here's a little something (two in fact) especially for Reg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlTKhPkZSJo

Marvellous! Now that immediately put me in mind of The Cramps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIQR_3TPtJw

Just lurv the way Poison plays away as if she seems totally disinterested in the whole proceedings and wishes she was somewhere else. Maybe she does!
And Lux is some bizarre love child of Screaming Lord Sutch and Lily Munster (*)

(*) I'm fickle, me. I've ditched Blondie now, and have switched my affections to Yvonne De Carlo. Next up will be Julie Newmar.

Thank you for rekindling that one for me :-bd . It's close, but I'm sticking with Yvonne for now  .
