I keep thinking I like Space Rock but then listen to some and find out I don't really. This is a recurring act. Anyway, I've found one that I do like, I think.

One thing I do know I like is this lot's new album.

Technically I'm listening to today's TDF stage. when that's finished, I'll be listening to Japanese pipe organ bat music, which arrived in the post earlier.
Japanese pipe-organ builder and sound artist Yosuke Fujita provided us with one of the prettiest, weirdest records that passed over our desk last year, essentially a custom-built organ duet with a bat colony, recorded in a cave beneath Mt. Fuji. It’s now been remastsred by Rashad Becker (with whom Fujita will be collaborating on a performance for Issue Project Room next month) and captures a sound somewhere between Sarah Davachi, Eleh, Pauline Oliveros and Kali Malone's long-form organ dirges, with the bat calls sounding almost like a synthesizer piped thru an echo chamber.

that took some find looking back up the thread. thunderstruck. I find in good to get motivated to.. climbing, cycling etc.
I also like the version by Steve 'n' Seagulls, a Finnish country rock folk/bluegrass band..

Specifically requested by my seven year old, which is a change from his usual “what does the fox say” and “who let the dogs out”. It’s interesting to hear just how much sound engineering goes into a vocal track

Jackson Browne - remember him?
He has a new album out so exploring the back catalogue.
Reminds me of time spent on Erraid back in simpler times.
We only had two LPs JB and Alain Stivell and his magic feckin celtic harp.
I listened to a lot of JB.
Zazen - nothing happens next this is it.

Just listening, oohh ok watching, Palin/Jones's Ripping Yarns again. But for the first time I've got Palin/Jones's "commentary" switched on. It's almost as hilarious as the actual films. It's as though they were watching someone else's film and thoroughly enjoying it, giggling away (curiously at many of the scenes I love too), Jonesy's laugh completely infectious, Palin almost playing the commentary straight but losing it occasionally. An absolute masterclass in comedy but doubled-up if you will. One of the most delicious half hour's I've spent in ages. Pretty much comedy perfection, I would offer up for consideration to the currently assembled BBB Pub clientele.

I don''t know what's come over that boy, I really don't. He's been off his kedgeree for weeks.

Jaysus, have said it before, but I really wish Jonesy had been in the Star before a WRT, or better still a WE... I'm absolutely convinced he was (is!) one of us.

Goodbye shorts... hello football...

Sigh. You're getting soft again Mr Ottershaw... Stop Being Soft.....

.. the kettle boiling.

And also the Undertones "Peel Sessions" CD which just arrived in the post. Hard to get hold of now, usually over £20 or more but found one for six quid. Bargain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKgSApaIP9k. Rawer versions than standard studio ones. Huge bass sound etc.

Hey Micky, what's "incoherently" mean?

Anjuna Deep podcast 313 by DJ Marsh, after 2 beers on the train on way back from Wales (train from Cannock). Floating along in every way right now :-bd

On SoundCloud if you're a fan of deep/melodic house stuff. There's a few by him for Anjuna Deep. Great label.

Looking forward to the trip report, last one was ace! Not bothered about the house music though, apologies  .

Enjoy the train ride and beers. Plenty of window-staring I hope. You're probably passing Leighton Buzzard just about now as well <waves> .

Thanks Reg. Probably was about that time, bit after 6. 'Retrospective wave'. Liking house music is a product of my age or mis/well spent youth, not for everyone is it

Yes! It's... 1960s TV theme tune night! If there's ever been a better decade for telly I want to know what it is. Ahh.. those innocent optimistic times (*)...
