Ooh, that's better, thanks! I'm sure I caught a glimpse of Dee down the front there

Obviously you were joking but one never knows, the camera could have focused in further back in the crowd for a change. No point in going all that way to stand at the back
Anyway the good news is, my friend got converted and is now a fan :-bd

After my sister quoted Nick Cave (Wings off flies) on WhatsApp the other week I’ve been playing the first 5 Bad Seed albums a lot. I’d forgotten how much I used to play them and they felt like old friends whose company you naturally and easily slip into.

It’s a little worrying that Mercy Seat (still!) has such a resonance and anyway I told the truth and I’m not afraid to die.

My love of the Linda Linda’s has lead me to check out the Bikini Kill (Rebel Girl) and The Muffs (Big Mouth) that I missed first time around. Who says that the young know nothing...

In a more circuitous route it has also lead me to Japanese Breakfast. Paprika (off Jubilee) my current favourite but I’m impatiently awaiting the first two albums on cd as that’s how I prefer to ‘consume’. It also lead me her excellent book ‘Crying in H Mart’. So good that I started re-reading it as soon as I finished it.

When I need more moments of contemplation Hania Rani’s Music For Film and Theatre is still hitting the spot (with bullseye precision).
Give the dirt a little room.

After discovering I like Kid Kapichi (thanks Dave) and knowing I like Bob Vylan - I've been listening to this. Superb lyrics but perhaps only suitable for 'remainers'. "You've not shut them out, you've just locked us in" strikes a chord.

I'm always on the lookout for new to me tunes but haven't found much to scratch the itch lately.

Yes that was quite jolly. Poor old drummer - exploded in not-so-mysterious circumstances, unlike like Spinal Tap's drummer  .

Half way through I must admit I was reminded of the (in)famous youtube vid of the nutty mountain bikers with a bike stuck on the electric fence  (*) .

(*) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUL56vrK75I. Sorry  I know loads think it's ridiculous but it still makes me cry with laughter. "I haven't got any f'in welding gloves on" etc etc.
