I guess I'm listening to Daniel Avery, after Le Tour finishes.

Well it's Friday so I'm indulging myself. Had a sudden twinge of missing live music, so decided to dredge up some "best of". Still desperately cheesed off that the Toy Dolls are now deferred until wayyy into next year.

Sorry (not really) if it's a bit punk-heavy.

Started off with some vintage 'Tones, way back in '79:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KM8W6GyLiNg

Which somehow pointed me to this lot who are new to me, Radiators From Space, all suitably frenetic:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7voWhhnGKPA

How could we ignore the ludicrously bonkers Mo-AM who will one day just explode in the middle of their act:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72NRRk2JI1E

Next up, the inimitable Ramooooooooonnnnes... take it Doo-Doo..... all the cretins and Boners go to heaven......
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcmDhG0YhgI

We can hardly forget Mr Pursey, playing to the audience for all he's worth, sporting his laced-up boots and corduroys.... thank goodness Parsons is holding it all together cos the stickman is about to go over the edge at any moment.....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhJzQaE6FJM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3QI40oq_iw

Some Rezillos silliness. Fay's gonna do her back in at her age the rate she's going....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmXouFoQLvU

The Apemen? Yes, Netherlands punk instrumental.. wouldn't look out of place on a WRT I reckon....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyz1K22ED4g

Changing direction slightly... the Bonzo Dogs in all their punky Dada-ist splendour.. in prime pisstake mode... professionals will be able to work out which episode of 'Do Not Adjust Your Set' this is taken from....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_GTAM8um8M

And from Oz, the Atlantics, rejuvenated from their 60's heyday featuring the technical brilliance of Martin Cilia's lead. But can you spot the very weird glitch:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YC7bxEvGJwg

Just to show that I'm not a total heathen let's finish up with this quite uplifting little piece:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEIOksDcTtw

Live music, sigh...... I'll leave Stu to supply something suitable by the Macc Lads

Some memories revived there Reg.

Radiators from Space TV Screen EP was a lively affair for the time.

Currently listening to the Angelic Process, who very much had their own sound. It's a shame that sometimes such music is an indicator of the composers frame of mind, it was a husband and wife band and sadly the husband passed away, though they were on hold due to an injury making it impossible for him to play.

Anyway, one of my go to albums when I'm in a reflective mood.

Macc lads you say Reg?

Oh Lordy, you know me better than Mrs Perrin!! Now that's quite concerning  .

Trouble is I've now switched into self-analysis mode because there's two seemingly diametrically-opposed facets to my outlook that are now battling with each other. Sod it, maybe I should just kick the couch into touch and get out for a bivvy.

I amusingly note how your selection has (temporarily?) killed this thread stone dead :-bd

Not listening to owt at the moment I'm afraid, but went out earlier to get some shopping. Got loads of stuff for Mrs Perrin, my parents and a few bits for Reg (*). Get back, and Mrs Perrin steams into me - "the only thing you went out for was some new potatoes and you've forgotten them". What, the only thing? Surely I got all the rest of the list as long as my arm? Counts for nowt apparently. AND the bonus Warburton's orange-flavoured bread stuff (she likes it - but citrus flavoured bread? Seriously??) that I got for her as a prezzie counted for nothing either!

(*) So, I impulse-bought some ales while I was there. Weak-willed I know. Why did I do it? I Am Not A Consumer Machine. If anyone can tell me what this is all about I'm keen to hear about it:

"We brew bold beers and serve punchy pints because that's the way we like them. In Yorkshire we'd rather set benchmarks than trends, only making beer that we're proud to put our name on. It's our Vocation". Do you Yorkshire lot say that sort of stuff really? "Benchmarks"??

Good grief, it goes on in small print that I've just noticed - "This is Life and Death. Three kilos of hops and forty kilos of barley selflessly give their lives to brew every barrel of this beer. It's a lot to ask but their reincarnation as this life-affirming IPA makes their sacrifice worthwhile etc etc". So they're gravel-biking brewers yeah? Landslide, you're a Yorkshireman, what's going on here?

Well I've made the mistake of reading the other box now. "Affable and vaguely eccentric brewing wizard in oversized wellies". ??????

"Ey up. We're Northern Monk. A few years ago we set out to brew some of the best beer in the world from a damp cellar in the north'".

Look guys, I just drink the stuff when Mrs P gives me permission, but even I can see where you're going wrong here. If a damp cellar is all you need Reg is your man but....?

Quick, play some music somebody.....

Marvellous! Korpiklaani? Sounds a bit Finnish to me. Pretty appropriate actually. They do like the odd beer over there. When I was there I had a great time. If I remember rightly. Which I don't  . Ridiculously, I actually believed my hostess when she said "we take the sauna then we jump in the lake". I followed the instructions to the letter and I'm not sure she wasn't taking the piss out of an innocent(?) backpacker. The ice was a bit of a surprise to be honest, but once you'd smashed through that it was quite a refreshing experience. Still, to be fair, I absolutely needed cooling off after that quite enlightening sauna :-bd .

Dunno mate. I went gravel biking yesterday, but ended up drinking a nice Austrian white, followed by an Italian rose frizzante.

Spent a few hours weeding the garden yesterday and will spend a few more today. Decided to listen to 13 Minutes to the Moon Season 2: The Apollo 13 story again. Spellbinding, just like Season 1: The Apollo 11 story.

Randomly wandering. Have come back to Gary Gilmore's Eyes. Browsing the band's history I see that Gaye Advert (nee Black, now 64 - astounding) is quoted as having "panda eyes". Perhaps she could be seconded when our own Panda is unavailable to mediate in disputes?

Am concentrating on her bass playing on GGE. Just played it six times in a row (edit: no, make that 14!). Very firm. Very solid. Superbly cohesive with that crisp, tight and economical drumming.

I'm locked into a private ward, I realise that I must be.. looking through Gary Gilmore's eyes.....
