New Bike Gear Out And Due Out...

Post by Escape Goat »

I don't know if there's a post for all new stuff out and coming out so you can let this fizzle out if we have...

Mechanical too, so will tick a lot of peoples boxes.

I really want a Sram 1 x 12 drop bar groupset that isn't sram AXS with the same cassette as the NX (Shimano fitment)

Anyone got any other items they'd like to see, or know about and want to share?

Decathlon drop-bar bikepacking bike, complete with USB charging hub. Looks pretty interesting, not sure if the bags come with it too but I'd imagine they'll sell them separately anyway.

I don't need it, but the decathlon bike looks pretty good. Not sure what the geo is like, but the spec is well thought out (although not heard many good things about DUB BBs) and it's ready to go on a wide variety of trips. Great value too for all that.

I recently had loads of video adverts popping up for the "Babymaker"(!) electric "street" bike, so went and had a virtual look at it:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the- ... QAvD_BwE#/

On the face of it looks rather jolly - belt drive, battery sleekly hidden in downtube - but not everyone is impressed it seems  :

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned on here, unless I've missed it

Surprised that decathlon can call it the 920 like the Trek, same colour and same type of bike!

Stooge looks fantastic, Andy is keen to get me on one of them  colours are ace, love that yellow/mustard colour

Agreed, the Scrambler looks really cool, the colours are brilliant too. When I first saw it I was tempted to go for it, but I have a cool bike in a really nice colour, with fairly similar geo, so there's no real need for me...and no time either with a little 'un.

The riverside 920 is going all in with the bottle boss warfare - 22 bolts! Bit like the new marin mountain...

Decathlon use that numbering system across all of their products. 9xx is higher function than 7xx, then 5xx etc.

TBH when I saw that image I assumed it was a Trek too.

Intrigued to find out where you saw that...? I signed up to the Riverside Touring newsletter and everything and have been checking their website, but have seen and heard nowt. Nice to finally get an idea of cost...

popped up on the Riverside Instagram today, in the stories bit (click on Bikes above the images) https://www.instagram.com/riverside_decathlon/, I've been waiting to see how they look.

Details of the cheaper touring bikes too.

Typical, you need a login to see that and since Instagram are owned by evil incarnate, that ain't happening...

Shame that Decathlon wont do a frameset option. Which just leaves buying one, stripping it and flogging all the bits...

Shimano one-upped SRAM with Microspline and 10-51 cassettes and now SRAM have fired back with Eagle 520 and a 10-52 cassette.

It’s an expensive upgrade too since it’s not backward compatible with the older Eagle derailleurs and the cheapest version of the cassette is 200 quid!

Looks useful for that extra bit of kit that you don't always take but when you do want to, it doesn't fit in the compactly-packed set up you have for most rides-

Need convincing it'll stay put and will need some frame tape as it looks like a paint-eater. And I wish they'd make plain black options. Not a big fan of the grey-yellow branding tbh. Still, I like it. Sean's mini DT bag was smart, this is like a bigger version.
