Seen lots of unusual activity this week for my area,

-A400 doing loops overhead
Think it was doing practice landings at Liverpool airport

-Coastguard rescue helicopter
No idea but Ellesmere Port isn’t far from the coast so to speak

-Britten Norman Defender
Never knowingly seen one of these before but did fly over several times

-Also last year, an Antanov cargo plane would fly over on a semi-regular basis

And I thought quarries were random .

I think this lockdown is finally getting to us.....

I was walking in the Cotswolds last year and happened to look up and saw the underside of a B2 cruising past very quietly at a low height

Not today, last years Trump visit. Flying from Sandhurst to Chequers came over my house. In a V formation, Airforce2 flanked by two other large helicopters, two Osprey twin tilt-rotor aircraft and two apache gunships. It looked ridiculously pompous and out of place in Berkshire

Yeah I saw that. Stood outside with the double Vs up and a few bean-shakes for added confirmation, hoping they had good cameras on those things.

I ride past Chequers quite often, those big security cameras outside - have to try not to be childish every time. Sometimes fail

We've had loads near Bristol since lockdown.
A400m's on a regular basis with a few C17's all doing touch and go's at Bristol airport, a couple of Hercules, loads of Merlin's and a few wildcats.
Two typhoons on VE day.
The ones that surprised me the most were the RAF voyager's on a twice weekly airbridge to the Falkland Islands. I had no idea they flew over our house until the skies were empty.
There's a little Piaggio with a really whiney engine sound that flies pretty regularly from Biggin hill to Bristol too.
Coast Guard earlier on this week.
Don't need to go to the air tattoo this year.

There's been plenty of AgustaWestland Apache AH1's buzzing the village recently. Had one bank over the house the other day, ferocious looking things...

Yesterday I nearly had a 757 landing in the back garden. OK slight exaggeration but the new air route out of Edinburgh puts taking off planes right over the village when its an easterly. Someone I know saw an air china 757 the other day.....

I'm thinking some kind of paintball headed surface to air missile......

Interestingly, given the last poster, There was a high-flying plane passing over me yesterday when I was walking the dog. Checked the app on my phone and it was an Airbus Beluga.

I need to make an effort to see one - I guess they are regular visitors to the various Airbus facilities?

Pretty much daily! Common for me to see them twice a day. Not so common is their latest XL version, that is massive!

About this time last year, an Antanov used to fly over our house. Not that famous big one but still, quite exciting.

Ospreys are cool as, saw them last year in the Lakes.

Need to see some Stealth bombers and the B52

Whilst walking the dog yesterday I was being entertained by a C17 Globemaster practicing touch and go at Robin Hood airport. Was quite amusing watching all the light aircraft from Gamston staying well south from their usual playground.

When I was a boy I lived at RAF Scampton. We had a Vulcan squadron....

I was at RAF Wyton where my Dad flew Canberras. We used to get the Vulcans and also the Phantoms from RAF Alconbury.

We had what looked like a plane / helicopter hybrid over yesterday. It was a good size. Anyone know what it was?

When they practiced scrambling you could loose fillings. Somehow I still managed to sleep through it.

Worked on the airfield at Mnachester Airport for about 18 months recently. Those things are right up there with the loudest things I've ever heard up close. An incredible racket.

Growing up in Lincolnshire and being of a certain age the sight of flying Vulcans was common. What were the other 2 planes in that V range - Viglen and ???
