Vittoria Tyres
I've just put the new tyres on the bike, Barzo for the front and a Mezcal III for the rear. I see on the sidewall it says the minimum pressure for tubeless use is 2 bar, 29 psi.
I usually run my tyres at 23 psi although they often drop to 15 psi over time before I notice and pump them up. 29 seems quite high for tubeless.
Has anyone had an issue running Vittorias below the recommended minimum?

My Mezcal,s were a bugger to get off at zero psi! I reckon you will be fine, I wouldn’t put that in writing though

Re: Vittoria Tyres
Yeah, you'll be perfectly fine.
I run my Peyote tubeless in the low-20s with no issues.

Re: Vittoria Tyres
Cheers both. That's what I thought but as they've gone to such trouble to write it in such big letters on the sidewall I thought I'd check.
I've had my Michelins down to the low teens before and never managed to unseat a tyre, perhaps I'm just not rad enough

Ive used a 29x2.6 mezcal for a fair way on hookless rims at about 15 to 20 psi
No issues.

Re: Vittoria Tyres
A tubeless tyre shouldn't be reliant on pressure to hold it in place.
May the bridges you burn light your way
Re: Vittoria Tyres
They set on the rims (Stans Arch Mk3) with quite a pop, I think I could ride them with no air and they'd not come unseated

Re: Vittoria Tyres
Forgot to say, the only thing I don't like about them is the logos aren't aligned from side to side so both sides can't be aligned with the valves.
I've fitted them so they are correct from the drive side as the rules say all bikes should be photographed from that side

I once saw stu run his with no air or stans it at all mate!! In fact it wasnt even seated on the rim and he survived a 20mph tarmac descent. Though he did look like he had shat himself when he stopped
Re: Vittoria Tyres
Been using Barzo and Mezcal on Easton (now RaceFace) Arc 30 rims in both 2.6" with hardly ever anything near 2 bar. Mostly about 1.3 - 1.6 bar.
Took me across Iceland 2 x, in one sandy spot with surely less than 1 bar.
Same with my girlfriend on WTB KOM rims.
Not one single issue.
This was August/September last year and since I've kept them on the same bike for everyday use, mostly gravel tracks and easy terrain, sometimes with heavy loads, always with far less then the stated minimum. Absolutely no issues.
The rear is worn down, yet the sidewalls, whilst showing wear, are still keeping air perfectly.
I quite like them and have more Mezcals in the cellar waiting.

Re: Vittoria Tyres
Yes very annoying, I carefully aligned mine on the non-drive side, of course one of the rules that photos MUST be taken from the drive side, makes me look very amateurish.sean_iow wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 9:16 pm Forgot to say, the only thing I don't like about them is the logos aren't aligned from side to side so both sides can't be aligned with the valves.

Riding usually does that anyway
