Cheap dynamo wheelset on wiggle

Post by Tomwoodbury »

Spotted these which look like a bargain.

Suspect this is an in-house brand. Does anybody have experience of their wheels?

Are they cheap at £250?

looks like and SP hub which you can pick up for £75. XT rear hub for £40, pair of WTB i25s for £85, spokes £30 = £230. Probably better than those in the spec.....

Thanks. Pretty ignorant on dynamos. Just know SON are the ones to get if you’ve got the cash.

YOu may get a QR dynamo for that price above but a 15 mm one?
Never seen one that cheap personally - last looked a few months ago
Decent value if not exceptional bargain IMHO

They do look good (as long as the decals are removable!)

Even being able to build my own wheels they would be tempting if I wanted similar spec. The dynamo alone is £120+

The only thing is, having had a warranty claim on an SP dynamo, I wonder how complex that process would be with one of these.

Haven’t we all? I’d steer we’ll clear of SP and their Chineseium bearings.

I see Shimano now make a 12mm dynamo hub.

I have some non-dynamo Prime wheels on my Pickenflick. They’ve only done a few hundred miles but so far I’m very impressed. They were about half the price of Hunts and a similar weight. However, not sure I’d buy a dynamo wheel set from them, especially when the description includes the word “fairweather”.

That's an impressive level of detail given in the specs. Wish that it was the same everywhere!
