Nah, Fri is the B/H this year remember, so John's going for the full-fat option  . Nice idea John. T-shirts? Hmm...

I'd join in if it's open to all? I should've been at work so couldn't travel to the event....

Yep I'm up for this.

Friday 8 May is my 55th birthday. There. I said it. It's the pooblic holiday of course so I may not actually be madly wired after yet another 12 hours of emails and Skype meetings.

Come on you lot. There's half a million of you who were gonna pitch up at Stu's that weekend. Get on board.

Need to start getting my rear in gear for this - only 8 days away now. Surprised we haven't had reams of posts about what to take, which bike, weather speculation, cake speculation etc.

So when are you sending the GR's out Johnners? I never go to any of them anyway but it'd be good to know what they are.

Thanks for organising it all mate, looking forward to it as much as usual. Almost

I'm in. I've got a couple of bivvy spots in mind, just need some grid refs to plan the route (suggest giving 6 figure grid refs with no Letter pre-fix, that way they should suit a lot more people).

What about LHC, anyone running that this year?

[EDIT: I should probably point out under the circumstances that my "couple of bivvy spots" are one at each end of the garden]

We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

We'll all be our own LHC's really  .

Right, I need something to look forward to so I've cooked up some GR's. I'm up for the 3-day affair I think, WRT standing this time for Well Ride Thing.

On past form I'm sure I'll successfully contrive to avoid all of them.

Am working on a few other ideas to amuse myself with too.

Well remembered that man! No, but in lieu of sea, which is somewhat further away from here than the 'lockdown exercise allowed average' of 22.5 minutes permits me to get to, there is one in the canal instead  .

At Grove? I actually plotted them earlier, I was expecting them to join up into a comedy outline of some sort. They're all a bit far away for me, but as I hadn't entered the WRT it would be bad form for me to ride to them anyway.

That's the one. Impressed you've plotted them - we're all desperate enough to take any lockdown distraction task now  . I missed a trick with the comedy outline, might have to revisit them  .

Strange bunch of GR's but we're a bit starved of features round here so I resort to desperate measures like 'view of Milton Keynes' .

I'm working form home, and to be honest, when it comes to work I'm easily distracted so I'd have plotted them even before the lock-down

As usual I will tag along with another group because I'm too lazy to plot routes .... anyway, I can't make it Friday night as the kids an I are going over to my ex's for dinner and cake (did I mention it's my birthday) Saturday night's a goer though :-bd

RIP and I have had a chat and an idea.

We are still thinking about it, but who fancies trying this???.....

Of the people who are interested

You pick 10 grid refs within a 15km radius of the another riders house, they have to try and get to these points within the 3 days of riding and 2 nights in their garden.

It's hardly a substitute for the WRT, but if it get's you and your bike packing mojo going to get you out to look around your area for new spots that a stranger has sent to you.

No weigh in, no group rides, no LHC, no prizes and no Lemon Drizzle cake, unless you make your own

Sign up below....

Or is it just Reg and I playing out this weekend?

It's my birthday on the Saturday, think I'm going to camp out in the garden with the kids at some point over the bank holiday weekend. And go for a wee ride without the kids. I'll happily plot a route around some GRs and pick some for another participant.

What a bloody good idea! I’m up for this.
I live 1/2 a mile from Banbury railway station if anyone wants to pick me some GR’s
The only bummer is I’ve just received a shipping notice from ZPacks, should be here just after what would have been the WRT weekend

Oh sun rising hill is a notorious virus hotspot, best avoid :???:
