Another frame hunt?

Post by FLV »

Asking for a freind*

Looking for a hardtail frame with the following,

29er
120mm fork
Modern geo, at least fairly
SS ready, either 135 or 142 (i have a 135 hub / wheel but theres a solution)
Not crazy money so probably not carbon or ti?
29x2.4 proper clearance
Preferably not a boost crank but probably do able

So far i know of,
Santa cruz chameleon, but 70mqyid for dropouts... pfft i mean it looks nice but...
Surly KM, need to check the geo, surly reccomend a 551ac which is a 140 fork.

Anyone know any others?

Thanks all

*its for me, my name is dave and I'm a bike addict...

Id also add, at least one of my frame hunts from here has yielded a purchase im really happy with so this does work :-bd

They are rather nice but missing the SS and 120 fork compatibility unfortunately.

Direct from Dan Hunt himself. :) even 140mm if you fancy. Optimised for 120 though.

Looks like they've stopped trading, shame, but other than being a little short in the TT my 2Souls Quarterhorse ticks all of your boxes.

Occasionally I think of selling it, then the madness passes.

Stanton Sherpa?
29r up to 120mm fork
You can buy various dropouts for it £30 if I remember correctly.

I've got one but haven't tried it with the ss drop outs yet.

I pondered the geo for too long and it went to some lucky rider. Never mind.

I'm not sure it fits all your requirements, but when I was looking last year, the Brother Big Bro looked good.

I bought myself a Brother Big Bro not so long ago feels brilliant to ride lighter than expected tbh takes on the local terrian with ease, which is mainly around the clwydians/llandegla etc. full XT build, Formula Cura brakes and lightweight set of Hunt wheels, Gonna be some great adventures done on this once Covids out the way properly :-bd
